Just so you all know this week on discord it was confirmed this novel will not be continued anymore unfortunately. I asked if there is ever a chance if he will pick it up again and unfortunately there isn’t. A pity, this had so much potential.

For a cultivation novel, it ain't bad at all. The characters are well developed, especially Lilian, even the MC is decent except for his name (John, seriously?), the power system is easy to understand yet also detailed enough imo. The best thing I like about it is that the MC isn't some useless roadside cripple that miraculously found a OP item and became God while being absolute garbage otherwise like you see in generic Xanxia, he's actually really talented and learns stuff quickly while the OP item only enhances his already genius self, it makes up for him growing up in a backwater part of the weakest continent in the weakest world and then some, his cultivation was only sealed due to mommy dearest. The downsides: The update rate is kinda slow.

I’m around ch.225. By then title I expected this to be hardcore with antihero or evil MC but so far this is like a shounen with an mc hanging on to morals. Does it get better or is this a drop?
ive read... so many chinese and korean novels at this point, and so many cultivation novels, comedy ones, slice of life ones, serious ones, sh*tty power fantasy ones... and I have always skipped this one because i cannot get over the fact that MC's name is f*ck*ng John... JOHN! what possessed the author to name him this, fang yuan, lin ming, han jue, long chen, qin mu, su yang WHATEVER, literally give him whatever name why did it have to be john 😭😭😭😭😭😭
