Chapter 35: Incoming Change

"I don't think I would say it like that," Liu Ye muttered as he looked at what Xu Yue commented. "But I guess it promotes your future guild, so it's not that bad."

Not only did she introduce it to the public and stated he belonged to it, but she used his authority to acknowledge its strength. Even though he admitted he might lose, no one would blame him since he is clearing the dungeon solo. It was twenty times harder so people would still respect him if only he cleared it.

"It's our Guild," Xu Yue corrected as she leaned back against his chest. "Now we only need to wait for tomorrow and clear the dungeon first."

"Don't you think you are too comfortable there?" Liu Ye questioned as he glanced at the doors. Anyone could break in at any moment and discover them together.

"Don't worry, I locked the door," Xu Yue assured in a whisper and hugged his head while caressing his hair gently. "You were always a mystery to me. You say you don't mind being with me but when I advance, you pull away. How do you resist the temptation?"

"My situation doesn't allow me to follow my desires," Liu Ye replied simply, feeling like they already went through this topic. "Not only does someone want to kill me but you said it yourself, I'm not a potential partner candidate for you according to your father. Not to mention he is at the same residence right now and it's too risky for us."

"But then you make a bet that potentially makes your situation even worse," Xu Yue pointed out.

"That's alright. At least I give myself a chance to recover some freedom and more paths I can take," Liu Ye replied and thought for a moment as he embraced her slim waist. "There, I can give you 1 minute but you will give me a break for the rest of the day."

"Sure," Xu Yue agreed while pursing her lips and pushed her bottom deeper into his hips. Liu Ye knew she would make full use of this minute but it was a small sacrifice for a whole evening of peace.

It wasn't like he hated her touch. He was a straight male and Xu Yue hit his preference perfectly. The only problem was her family that prevented him from accepting her feelings.

Xu Yue didn't seem concerned though as she titled his head to face him and wished shamelessly, "Kiss me."

Liu Ye didn't expect she would go straight for the kill and before he complained, she added softly, "You gave me one minute… Let's pretend we are dating for a minute… It has been a while since I tasted your lips…"

Her nose rubbed against his own but Xu Yue didn't strike first, waiting for him to take the lead.

"Kiss me…" Xu Yue whispered again.

Liu Ye's body was begging him to move and finally take what he has been resisting this whole time. He could feel it in all his bones and muscles as even his lips opened, exchanging hot air with Xu Yue, yet he couldn't take the final step.

He knew himself well.

If he let his desires consume him again, he wouldn't be able to fall back anymore. It took him a great effort to pull himself from the endless loop of passion and urges that Xu Yue dragged him to. He couldn't revert back to those times where he didn't have any control over himself.

"Tch…" Xu Yue snickered softly before she bit her lip as if debating something in her mind. "I have a secret I have been wanting to tell you for a while…"

Her words snapped him back to reality but he didn't draw back.

"What secret?"

Xu Yue brushed her fingers through his hair and muttered, "I'm forbidden to tell you anything until next week…"

She paused, hesitating while she leaned against his forehead.

"It's okay if you can't—" Liu Ye replied but was quickly cut off.

"No. I need to tell you something," Xu Yue decided and pulled away ever so slightly to look into his eyes. "The things I know would change everything. You wouldn't hesitate anymore. You would simply kiss me and take me as yours."

"Then tell me," Liu Ye suggested, wanting to know more.

He couldn't say he wasn't curious at what she was hiding. Everything that was worth keeping a secret from him was definitely a top-secret that she just couldn't share.

"What I can tell you perhaps is that the world will soon change beyond recognition," Xu Yue began while choosing her words wisely. "Every human in the world will be affected by this change. You and I especially."

"What change…?" Liu Ye wondered, having no idea what she could be talking about. "Will our country start World War III? Or maybe a virus will cause a worldwide pandemic?"

He tried to guess but Xu Yue pulled on his cheek with a giggle, "No silly. It will be impactful but hopefully, it can be contained and not many people will die. It is bound to cause some casualties but I was assured they already considered all options and everything was prepared."

Liu Ye couldn't help but frown, realizing it was more serious than he thought.

"Who are they? Tell me what will happen," Liu Ye demanded as he held her face but she only smiled mysteriously, leaving a soft kiss on his lips.

"I can't tell you, but no matter what will happen, I will no longer need this bracelet," Xu Yue replied as she displayed her Dragon bracelet that only the Heiress of the Red Dragon Triad could wear. "When I'm taken away by them, I will bring you with me and we will run away from this evil world. I don't want to be the heiress if I can't have you."

"Xu Yue…" Liu Ye muttered speechlessly, completely taken aback. She already said she wants to leave that world for him but he didn't think it was possible.

She was like a Crown Prince of an Empire who was bound to eventually take over the crown. All the responsibility was on her back and she couldn't just disappear as she wished.

"You no longer need to worry about Zhenzhen's safety," Xu Yue assured. "We will take her with us to a place far away from where my father can't find us. Even if he does, he won't have enough power to do anything."

"This sounds too good to be true," Liu Ye said suspiciously but she placed a finger on his lips to shush him.

"Just trust me. I can keep secrets but I would never lie to you," Xu Yue replied honestly. "Give it a week and you will understand. The world will change and you are already part of that change."

That last sentence gave Liu Ye something to think about. Almost nothing changed in his life the past few weeks aside from one thing and that was his new job, prepared by no one else but Xu Yue.

"Avatar Online," Liu Ye said the name as he observed Xu Yue's expression but she was too good, not giving away anything.

"You won't get anything more out of me. You can either choose to trust me and stay with me to witness the change or leave and take care of your matters on your own." Xu Yue gave him a choice.

Liu Ye knew his current situation and he had only one path he could take.

"I will wait then. It's just a week anyway," Liu Ye decided.

Just as Xu Yue said, she was anything but a liar. She would always take responsibility no matter what happened, owning to it instead of lying.

"If you want to stay and trust me, then from now on you are mine," Xu Yue announced while switching her position and sat down on his lap face to face.

"What kind of twisted logic is this?" Liu Ye replied as he grabbed her arms that already wrapped themselves around his head. "Shouldn't we wait for a week and find out? If what you said is true then we can continue from there."

Even if it was just a week, it was a week with a dangerous Xu Yue who would use every opportunity she had to get what she wanted. In this case, she wanted to eat him alive.

"You want to know what kind of logic it is?" Xu Yue repeated as she leaned forward, stopping right in front of his lips. "It's my logic."

She was done waiting for him to take the step and she pulled the trigger, kissing him deeply with all the passion she held inside her. Their lips melted together and she sucked one lip after another until Liu Ye took over.

His hands ran over her back as they slid down to her bottom and he grasped her firmly just like she liked. When it came to matters between couples, Xu Yue wasn't ladylike, preferring to be dominated by him.

When their tongues slipped together into a lovely mix, there was no turning back anymore.

Knock, knock.

Xu Yue jerked away at the sudden knock on the door, her breathing heated and irregular.

"Yes?!" Xu Yue called out, slightly irritated at being disturbed.

"Miss Xu, your father is requesting an immediate meeting in his office. Please bring Liu Ye with you."
