Chapter 6: Accepting ‘Reality’

Xin Siyue made up her mind to carry out her ‘amnesia’ act til the end, so she quietly comforted her mother: “Mom, even though I have amnesia, it’s not necessarily a bad thing. I’m still in good health, aren’t I? What’s better than living in peace and security right now? You can tell me more about the past, and who knows, maybe I’ll recall everything after you give me some time. Even if I can’t remember, I don’t think it’s a big issue. So mom, don’t be sad, I’m alright.”

Mother Xin’s eyes gradually showed a hint of incredulity and horror at her daughter’s words of comfort. Since when did her daughter comfort her so obediently rather than lash out?

The only way she can calm her mind was by reasoning that perhaps her daughter has now become sensible after falling down those stairs. Well, it’s good that she’s safe and healthy, so nothing else should matter.

The confusion on Mother Xin’s face cleared up at once, which caused Xin Siyue to sigh in relief.

‘Yes, good. I successfully made it through!’ At any rate, even if some unfortunate event was waiting for her in the future, everyone will know now that she lost her memory. That way, they won’t pursue her misdeeds to the end.

But out of all the information, there were only two details that Xin Siyue considered useful. One is that her father was Xin Jin and the other is that her mother was Bai Ning. These things were never mentioned in the novel. When the original author mentioned their suicide, she simply called them “Father Xin and Mother Xin.”

Out of the past several days she has stayed with them, she truly felt like a daughter who was doted on by her elders. They sincerely wanted to give her everything she asked for. And although Xin Qiancheng occasionally showed a bad attitude towards her, his tone layered with impatience, she could still feel the man’s love for his only sister. He simply wasn’t good at expressing it.

In times when Xin Siyue was alone, she always felt that if she lived this way in the real world, it would surely be the kind of life that everyone envies. Her present family’s economic standing was superior, and there was family love and harmony. Xin Siyue’s current physical health gave her many advantages that she never had in her past life!

Back in her world, she was born in the countryside to a poor family. Her mother wasn’t in good health while her father was an undisciplined and profligrate man. They quarreled with each other all year round, sometimes so fiercely that no one else could stop them. After Xin Siyue graduated from high school, her parents soon divorced.

She then went on to college and attended part time, and soon after her graduation, she went on to poor primary schools among the mountains to teach. However, Xin Siyue never expected that before she could complete two years of teaching, she suddenly transmigrated into a novel.

In fact, she was still quite confused right now; in the end, was her previous life real, or was her present life the actual real thing? How can such a strange event be possible?

Two days before going to school, Xin Siyue considered the fact that she personally had no talent for drawing. Was it too late for her to switch departments now? Will she be able to do it?
