Is this storys plot more like Legendary beast tamer or unsientific beast taming?

More like Unscientific Beast Taming of those two. The mc transmigrates to a world with a pre-established beast-taming power system and everyone is a beast tamer there.

Thanks, but i should have asked different. Are there just 1v1 mock battles like in unsientific beast taming or actual battles and wars.

Ah I see. It is mostly a story about raising beasts and competitions, tournaments and such as far as I've read (upto ch.840). With a very little bit of going out into non-human zones. There should be more of that in further chapters as it is foreshadowed but I don't expect there to be any big war type scenarios occuring unless the author pulls off very unexpected plot twists. Humanity has already colonized 3 planets (so there are 4 total) and they have established civilization on all of them and no other "competing races" or anything like that, just humans and beasts; so war seems unlikely unless aliens suddenly get introduced out of the blue. P.s.: This is not a spoiler, it is written very very early on that human civilization exists on multiple planets.

Battle like Pokemon type, there is some background plot depend on author explore it (Like secret realm stuff and how there a gate that will open and let wild beast enter). Idk if author gonna go that route tho (1k chap in and it still pokemon battle type, 1v1 2v2 with other trainer).

Upto current ch 427. In short loving it. Sometimes skills and names get mixed/changed but that might be more translation. The plot and progression are pretty nicely paced, plot so far is just getting stronger/progress thru school so pretty bare and there’s lots of competitions so little repetitive but seeing as it starts end of mid school and start of high school, I guess it’s expected. Plus it is natural competition progression, like local to regional to national. So plot wise, not much going on beyond that but there are hints at future stuff. Only thing I would say is MC/pets getting very strong already to known power lvls. As in I could see max pet by chap 800 and still being in school arc. So unless new things /story introduced I could feel this getting very repetitive BUT this is all speculation. 100% recommend reading this.

I only read first chapter but god whoever wrote this sure as hell didnt finish high school, the novel is set 30 million years into future but nothing changed... yeah f*ck*ng right (Expect that china owns everything) Evolution in 30 million years we wont look like this for sure, we have only existed for 200,000 years max and all humans for about 8 milion in 30 million even if there arent any new human species we would have changed a lot. In 30 million years tehc hasnt changed a lot while it should be that by the next century it would be much better than now while we might not feel it tehcnology is getting better and better without stop and its getting faster at getting better. By the end of century with ai and robots it would be no problem to get rid of almost every job possible but here beast do every job instead of humans? there are still manual jobs... 30 million years passed but only recently have they figured out why some people become beastmakers...

How are the side characters? Are they developed at all or 1 dimensional?

Continuation of the post below: What I really appreciate about the characters and pets in this story is that the author has put a lot of thought into creating their unique personalities so even reading about the mc's classmates who come and go in the story doesn't feel monotonous. The character growth of the pets is especially well thought out. Each of Qiao Sang's pets (she only has 4 as of Ch.840) has a unique base personality and they all grow up according to these personalities and all behave very differently from each other while staying loyal to their original character model. Even QS herself has good character growth. All in all, as far as characters go, I think the author has done a good job with this book.

X2 I read it up to the limit +900 I don't remember much since I read other novels but I loved this novel, the creator really tried hard, it's a story of moderate growth but with a lot of development and training, the friendships, his mother and how the tournaments etc. is a goddess, obviously the author was inspired a little by pokemon with some things but others are his inspiration maybe from other beast novels, in short it's nice to see and if you're tired of something shady or conspiracy, disturbing etc. this novel is to relax.

If you search up "beast taming starting from zero mtl" some sites should show up. I read on a website with white/orange colour scheme and icon. Don't think I can write names, the comment will probably get struck down. Anyway if you do read that, I hope you have some experience reading mtl works. It's actually really good by mtl standards but there definitely are a few things you can misunderstand like gender misappropriation etc or reversing intent of some sentences writing "I did read" instead of "I did not read" (this happens very rarely on that site), BUT the main issue is the beast names. They use random pokemon names so many times to refer to beasts 😂. Lubao has probably been called 10+ different water or ice pokemon names over the course of those ~400 extra chapters I read. But yeah anyways, as far as mtl goes it's actually really good. Beware of occasional missing chapters (there are other MUCH WORSE mtl sites which have those missing chapters though).

OH, I think I know which site ur talking about! I tried to read on that one but it REALLY threw me off when they called the fire fang dog growlith and then calling Yaboa’s evolution flareon was wild. I couldn’t read it after that lol.

Hahaha yes it was most likely that site. And Lubao gets called Eevee, Vaporeon and Glaceon among many others 😂😂😂

The tertiary side chars can be 1D; like the random opponents that will be prominent competitors in a competition, but not be relevant to the story beyond that. As for people close to MC, I'd divide them into two categories - the long term side characters (which have a prominent role in the story beyond a single major arc) and single-arc side characters (they are present for a major arc, but after that they'll only appear occassionally. There's two and a half long term side characters in all the chapters that I've read and they have their own motivations and aspirations and act accordingly. The single-arc side characters are also not 1D but they don't get a lot of character growth so I'd say they're pretty much 2D. I've read upto around Ch.840 on some mtl website. The novel just broke 1k chapters but sadly there's a lot of missing chapters past ~840 on the mtl sites I found so I have paused reading for now.

Okay not really a spoiler since it isnt that relevant to the story but why would she have to share a dorm room with OTHER PEOPLE? Not to mention that they would have beasts with her what if the beasts are uncompatible? How would they have secrets, etc.also you would think different beasts need different specific habitats or trinkets around the room. Or just space since some beasts grow big. i just think its a testament to how much lack of thought and world building this novel has. Everything has been good though if you like slice of life. Also upgrading the skills increases the potential evolution of the dog? This is not a spoiler since this happens to basically every pet story but What did mc do? Nothing. She didnt upgrade everything she just upgraded one and learned the fact and then she didnt do anything else. If you love Xianxia THIS IS NOT for you this is for the weak minded looking for slice of life.

To add on to the below comment, she did use points a couple times in clutch moments where it was necessary to gain an advantage so it's not like she behaves like a daft *d**t mc.

I don’t think you comprehended my comment correctly. I stated that MC doesnt upgrade her pets to the limit BEFORE evolution. The author said that upgrading the pets skills would improve the pets evolutionary potential. So instead of mc leveling up each skill manually to ULTIMATE, instead she doesnt gaf. She levels up with only one ultimate skill and the rest are mid. Not to mention professor forcefully upgraded her dog without her knowledge and though the dog interrupted it forcefully its just for jokes since the whole sponsor sh*t.

The core skill of the respective evolution stages are upgraded to ultimate. Not every skill needs to be upgraded, that's just nonsensical. The concept that the author is writing clearly indicates that upgrading that evolution stage's core skill is what's important, and the same has been stated. For one thing, trying to upgrade every skill before evolution would just take an exponentially longer amount of time and secondly, it is the author's power system and he's having the mc follow it properly as far as I've read (around ch550), complaining about the mc not doing something when it is literally not part of the created world's power system and then questioning other people's comprehension is peak irony. Besides that, similar to how I agree with your other point about the shared dorms, I also thought that the VP's "help" with the evolution was an *ss move, but that still doesn't justify your nonsense take about the mc and her usage of her special advantage.

Yes author didn’t directly say that skills needed to be upgraded for the potential evolution to be affected. When reading literature this is called “reading between the lines”. He said that upgrading beasts pet skills increases their energy levels. And him upgrading one skill to ultimate made it already 13000/10000. What if he upgraded two skills to ultimate? As a reader do you think it differs if a pet is evolved fron 13000/10000 to 23000/10000. I’m only following authors logic here and every beast novel logic I’ve read 20 of them and seems author is hell bent on copying the basic flow of everyt basic beast taming novel and not inventing a new world for himself I though this was understood as well.

I agree that your first para is good criticism for the novel but your second para just doesn't hold true. Her existence itself empowers her beasts. Her golden finger has a massive passive component to it. Yes she rarely ever adds points, but she doesn't need to either. There's no need to throw away accumulated points when she is under no form of threat at all and it's better to stock the points up. Meanwhile just her existence itself makes it so her beasts improve their skills at an astronomically faster rate compared to literally any other beast. Why would you waste 10k points if you can just make your beast use the skill 10k times over a couple weeks? Real cash for low level energy replenishing potions is worth way less than the points she accumulates which can be used even when her beasts are much more advanced and again, she is in a safe environment. It makes total sense to not use points in that scenario.

And besides, I remember her saying somewhere in the beginning back when Yabao was still a fire fang dog that she didn’t want her beasts to learn that she could just add points to help them. She didn’t want her beasts to rely on her golden finger and become lazy. Also, I would argue that practice with the skill is better then adding points because then the beast itself know the power output and can control it. Like, image of she had just added points to Yabao’s fire fang to make it ultimate level instead of him practicing it. When he would then use it next I could totally see it going out of control because it had no practice with it. For the people who didn’t get it, this is a hypothetical scenario of course.

I never said she should have added points. Don’t you know you can add points by training the dog?

The designs of the beasts themselves and their abilities are many times HIGHLY influenced by Pokemon (and when I say HIGHLY, I mean it 😂) but otherwise, the story structure etc is not like that, and yes the fights are not turn based.
