The person who wanted to establish a friendly relationship with the Star Shattering Sect was headed by Elder Shen Mei, an old Nascent Soul Realm Expert that was older than even some of the Flame Sky Kingdoms current ancestors.

The one standing behind the move to remain independent was Elder Hong Xuan, a similarly old Nascent Soul Realm Expert that had once been a prince of the royal family before being thrown out after losing the battle for succession.

Both were people with massive power inside the Flame Sky Kingdom and was not people that the current king could afford to offend carelessly…

"Haaa… Everyone, we will end today's discussion here for today…" Thinking about this, the king let out a sigh before sending everyone away. Silently lamenting about his fate inside his head.

Why did the Star Shattering Sect have to show up just when he was about to retire and focus wholeheartedly on cultivating…?
