I remember my first time reading this novel... It's not even finished translating in English, I even read the MTL one just to finish it. Although it has some plot holes, overall the story is very captivating, I can imagine and visualise the story. I enjoy the pacing of the story, my first time reading about some plane invasion and conquering stories, ... Solving the mysteries of history, etc. But just like the other novel... It has some pretty rushed endings, sadly.

This whole novel is essentially the MC getting stronger just because, while at the same time face-slapping young masters repeatedly. Unfortunately the MC is extremely passive and very rarely reacts to conflict, letting other people solve it for him or watching the antags f*ck themselves over in their misunderstandings.

i’m at chapter 160 and it’s good till now. i just have one problem no one ever fckin dies. i mean there’s some annoying character and lin yun’s gonna teach him a lesson but then someone knocks or interrupts or smth. and then that annoying character gets to know how terrifying mafa (lin yun) is and he’s left thinking ‘oh thank god so and so person came and prevented mafa from killing me’. sometimes when he spares someone, it’s genuinely the smart choice. but he’s supposed to be a ruthless person. whenever someone is spared it’s like ‘if it was lin yun from before, he would have died’. but where is the lin yun from before? i honestly don’t like when mc’s are hot blooded and don’t think too much. but lin yun is too passive man. he doesn’t respond to so many provocations and if you read carefully, the only times he’s acted against someone is when the other person attacked first.

First time? These types of endings are way too common in Xuanhuan Genre a lot of these novel has huge potential but made endings trash, skipped or thrown away the drain after authors decide they can't grind money on their novels anymore(in China) so they throw that novel and create another one that let them earn..

3/3 Last Overall, THE STORY IS GREAT, THE MC IS REALLY RELIABLE AND RESILIENT. There could be plot holes, and missing elements and you might not be satisfied with it's ending, but all I can say is that the journey of Lin Yun from start to end is really something worth reading. I was able to envision the scenes and properly understand it. I would really like to thank the author of this web novel! I was really highly entertained that it made me stay up all night and didn't bother to keep track on time just to satisfy my curiosity of what will happen next! EOTME is really a great read, that's what I can say. Of course, many thanks also to the translators and editors that really worked hard for this story, We appreciate you all!

CONTINUATION HAHAHAHA - Mafa Merlin's parents have no backstory. His father's death was not resolves as to who are the persons involved in the incident, like whoa re the collaborators with the Mochi family behind the shipwreck. Mafa's mother was unknown, no origin that made me wonder sometimes. Lastly, the ending (?) of the story. I was really surprised that the ending was already written! I JUST THINK THAT I AM STILL THIRSTY FOR MORE CHAPTERS BECAUSE THE "END OF THE MAGIC ERA" IS ONE OF THE BEST WRITTEN WEBNOVELS I HAVE READ! To be honest, I think the ending was rushed, my thoughts about it is that the author could have ended it more in a clearer and dramatic way because the way how the Noscent's destruction was explained was a bit shocking yet I could digest it right away (like I was shocked for 10-15 seconds but after that I was like "UH OKAY, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED" but not in a bad way).
