Hero of Darkness

this story is painfully mid, he calls the story a diamond, when it is barely even a pretty stone. the only thing this story has going for it is the worldbuilding which while decent serves no purpose when the character writing is so painfully bad, the Mc has no true flaws so to say everything that could be considered a flaw is resolved in a few chapters 10 chapters max. The characters feel empty hollow and i don't feel a slight thing when reading about them, the only purpose the subordinates is to just sit and circle jerk the mc character. . Minor spoilers: There is only one character that made me feel even the slightest bit of intrest and that was rudra, a character that isn't solely based on their loyalty towards the Mc, a character that hate the Mc and is forced to let him live to survive himself. his goal isn't about getting the mc to the top of the world, his goal is to get to the top of the world and be able to kill the mc. While nowhere close to being the best character in fiction, I would rather completly hate a character than i would feel nothing about them, which is the case for all characters (except for rudra), I feel true indifrence towards them. so to finish my statement while it has a pretty good world the people that live in the world are bland. Think of it like this if the worldbuilding is a normally delcious dish, the characters are the seasoning and that seasoning is a single grain of salt, a truly mid dish that would be.

I couldn't make it very far into this story so perhaps the writing improves but I found the mc plot and world building to be given in short burst and used to help pander to the audience for the mc's cringe and often contradictory actions it could have potential if the author would refocus on the character a story he wants to tell but as it stands it's to much of a pandering power fantasy

one of my go to novels. am stacking for around 100 chaps so i might be outdated but in the beginning plot is pretty good, apart from power system i liked how mc makes connections and established himself. mystery is somewhat nice as he continues to find his own powers.

If you don't like contradictory statements & actions, stay away from this novel. Even at it's best, it's "meh". It sits between taking a serious approach and being a gag comedy at the same time and in not a good way at all, you don't laugh from the "jokes" and you don't take it seriously when it's serious because you know some idiotic joke is coming. 5/10.

The best isekai I've read so far, only thing it flaw is the update is so slow and there are more filler, however those filler are building the foundation of what he is and you really feel the character in the story Give it a try i cried at the beginning.

It was okay but it could be better. You can read it if you have a lot of free time. Maybe it might be different for you. For me personally it was meh 😕

The jokes are interesting. Sometimes the writers did f*ck up but overall it's intriguing and the plot is REALLY GOOD. Although writer is ill a lot of time thus the inconsistency of the novel yet he is trying his hardest and writing this novel. Im really tempted to spend some for this dude for the first time.

It's preety good compared to the trash isekai we get nowadays. (I watch those btw) This novel started in a really unique way and it was fun to see someone getting Sung jinwoo, Obito and Rimuru's abilities right from the start. But the hero had to work hard to master those skills and there is obviously Superb Character Development! Overall, great novel. One of the best I've ever read.
