The Ant King (왕) was an immensely powerful Magic Beast born from the Ant Queen on Jeju Island where an S-Rank Gate had opened. The Ant Queen, who was monitored 24 hours a day by a Japanese satellite, showed a massive decline in its magical energy. It was later learned that this was due to the Ant Queen birthing her strongest child, the Ant King, for the sole purpose of beating strong Hunters. The King was one of the few magic beasts capable of communicating with Sung Jin-Woo similar to Baruka of the Red Gate and Kargalgan. Through his ability, Gluttony, the Ant King was able to learn human languages including Korean after devouring powerful S-Rank hunters. It is one of the most powerful magic beasts introduced within the series, with no hunters present during the Jeju Island Raid being able to fight against it, excluding Sung Jin-Woo. The Ant King is the primary antagonist of the Jeju Island Arc. To view the entire article, click Ant King.

Summary

10 years ago, after “the Gate” that connected the real world with the monster world opened, some of the ordinary, everyday people received the power to hunt monsters within the Gate. They are known as “Hunters”. However, not all Hunters are powerful. My name is Sung Jin-Woo, an E-rank Hunter. I’m someone who has to risk his life in the lowliest of dungeons, the “World’s Weakest”. Having no skills whatsoever to display, I barely earned the required money by fighting in low-leveled dungeons… at least until I found a hidden dungeon with the hardest difficulty within the D-rank dungeons! In the end, as I was accepting death, I suddenly received a strange power, a quest log that only I could see, a secret to leveling up that only I know about! If I trained in accordance with my quests and hunted monsters, my level would rise. Changing from the weakest Hunter to the strongest S-rank Hunter!

I'm sure you feel superior for hating a popular novel. How's that working out for you?

Well let say I still stand by my opinion that this novel is trash and filled with plot armor and there no suspence in it.

Manhwa doesn't contain side story chapters So it's better If you finish manhwa then read the last 30 chapters (side stories) of the web novel

you dont have to but there is more detail then the manhwa and more chapters at the end i think

If you love the hype you definetly must read 'The Author's Pov ', it has many similar concepts in common with solo leveling but you gotta endure the first 60-70 chapters which are a bit boring actually. You can also try Yamcha rpg, it's a new and interesting novel set in the DragonBall universe. If you enjoy comedy read 'My pick up artist system' which is really the funniest novel ever. 'Lord of the mysteries', 'Shadow slave' and 'The Novel's Extra' are also top tier. If you want a manhwa adaptation the only good ones that come to mind are 'Second life ranker', 'Omniscient reader Viewpoint' and 'The beginning after the end'. 'Solo max level newbie' and 'Villain to kill' are also cool manhwas but they don't have a novel

Well, i actually read author's POV and shadow slave.(they are in the best in my opinion) And about omniscient reader's pointview, i read it's manhwa like a year ago and don't know why but I kinda dropped it but now I'm thinking about reading it's novel, so is it worth reading??( I mean it's novel)

I liked the novel, a bit more than the manhwa actually. Try reading it if you want, it's not my personal favourite but it's written very well. Sadly there aren't that many good quality novels of the same genre these days, we are too poor to start dropping the actual good stuff

dont comment idiotic things like this dimwit the manhua is literally an improved version. you stated the obvious its literally the same thing but with pictures, made by the same people. Your insulting the manhua when you insult this. thats like saying the batman movie is way bettter than the batman comics lol this is a downgrade!!!!

I don't think you know how this works, manhwa/manga isn't meant to be an improved version, it's just an illustrated version of the source. So, source would obviously contain more information and tends to be better in most cases, but in my opinion this is not that good compared to manhwa. What yall think, I don't really care

That is why what you said doesnt make any sense, as it is just an illustrated version it cannot be a "downgrade", and it cannot be a "downgrade" as the novel is made first. If it was successful/popular it is adapted into a manga or manhua, if that is successful or if some animators or a studio takes interest in it, well then you got an anime. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED WITH SOLO LEVELING SO WHAT YOU SAID MAKES NO SENSE WHATSOEVER edit- instead of saying its a "downgrade" simply compliment the manhua and say the manhua was an upgrade. As they cant go back and rewrite the story.

why do manga and novel have different ending? or do they not? cause I heard someone say manga has different ending... what is manga ending if so?

    Reply
    • DarkStarr

They both have the same ending. The manhwa just omitted the last extra chapters in the novel. The manga ended where sung jin woo met the fml after defeating the dragon monarch whilst in the novel there are extra chapters regarding their married life and jin woo's son

      Reply
      • Questioner

hmm thought mc rewinded time and killed all monarchs super early and humanity didn't get mana but mc did is this still what happened? so that he could save lifes and get a normal life

        Reply
      • DarkStarr

yes he went back in the past and killed all the monarchs once again, that's why no one knew about his powers or anything related mana after he came back to the present(except a few people) as none of the incidents regarding dungeon breaks and hero awakenings happened. so basically jin woo is the only one in the present who still has his powers

      • Questioner

then how will their be a sequel after that?

        Reply
      • DarkStarr

Apparently he can pass down his powers to his son. and in the last chapter it was shown that his son was indeed capable of inheriting his powers. So maybe we can get a sequel with his son being the shadow monarch
