Leveling with the Gods

I really liked how several mythologies and "gods" came together to create the settings for this one. In my opinion, the only reason it's not a 5 out of 5 is the ending. I didn't like it one bit, not because it's a bad ending or anything but because it's like the author crammed 60 chapters worth of story into 5-8 chapters. So it's like a fragmented mess of an ending which you have to connect the dots and speculate what happened between the info gaps, which sucks.

Honestly thought this was gonna be really good but but the story really loses itself a lot. It sticks to the over arching plot really well but all the pieces along the way seem get forgotten. Very specifically the 3 sacred treasures which are made to be this big deal like the 3 stones are just kinda forgotten and the MCs demonic energy just kinda forgotten.

Very enjoyable overall, probably one of the best korean tower dungeon novels out there. Although I'd have to give it three star as an honest reader. The problems are way too big to ignore. Pros -I like the mc s ideals and he doesnt take the cliche route like so many other mc's. - Creativity and story construction are great. as someone who has intensely read about and studied greek, norse, and interacted with other mythology, the way its written actually makes sense according to the roles given to each character. I can outright tell that the research done for this and characterization is top tier. -Enjoyability, so far the way author makes a story is very enjoyable. I have even enjoyed this more than ORV and almost everything else based on authors plot decision making. Cause of Star Removal -After chapter 100 the translation goes downhill. A lot of the abilities change names constantly and the translator doesnt know whether to write she/he and he even uses both in the same paragraph. No grammar problems but translation ones. Almost every chapter. Also very very very slow updates. After about 170 the translation further goes into ruins and every sentence BREAKS. I have to pause every action because the 1 paragraph sentence completely sucks out the dynamics, momentum, tension, and intensity of any fight he has. -20 percent of the story is not there. You dont actually see mc's skills in his past life. They say he was a god in his past life but theres not a single clue of his identity of his past life in this one. Author must have forgotten to implement because every skill he gets takes an antire arc. The only exception is his passive skill that he gets which is pretty weak compared to other gods. Nothing else. Author doesnt give any clue on how he did on the past tutorial, just a mediocre guy. - Also author outright skips the floors. And not in the good way. Author doesn't recap, doesnt show what hes earned on 9 floors where he is supposed to be breaking records from the beginning of time. He even skipped a major floor (floor thirty) outright when he said every ten floor is an important one. And no we also didnt get a recap what happened there. (not a spoiler since you see it from the beginning) he has discussed with all other top rankers that still exist on how to get the best benefit from the tower, there is no way he only achieves something from like 4 instances in 40 floors. I think he has gotten way more from the tutorial than floors 1-45. -Fights are on the weak side. It's like watching a pokemon battle from how stale the author narrates it.

Leveling with the Gods is one of my favorite novels. The story is extremely good. The same goes for the characters they have depth to them, and they have character development. The same thing goes for the main character, and he is one who is calm and collected, is strong but not overpowered, and uses his brain. I love the idea of the novel. It is not rare to have a regression novel, but the way the author is using it is extremely good.

One of my favorite books of all time , I started reading the novel right after the manhwa came out and have been hooked ever since, it has the classic regression troupe along with an intelligent mc who grows fast , it also has great world building and majority of the chapters other than a few (in which he is training or getting items) are all action filled and it never disappoints you. Sadly only 200+ chapters right now

This story is really good for this genre. I enjoy the use of gods and the pseudo use of mythology. Despite the story being great, I dropped it at chapter 157 because the translation quality takes a sharp dive. It may just happen for a few chapters, I'm not sure, but it was too noticeable for me to want to continue reading. The 4/5 is for the story itself and not taking the later translation into account.

A really good story with a resolute and righteous MC and a defined worldbuilding. I'm currently enjoying reading the manhwa (since i fell in love with the art u. u) but sometimes i need to spoiler myself with the novel because i can't wait for the next chapter. . .

This is one of my favorite novels. I only started reading it after reading the manga. The MC is cool, worldbuilding is excellent , the other characters mostly do not need huge background because are the old gods from different countries . Definitely worth the read .
