Chapter 100: Face the Consequences

Shen Yi's mood didn't improve even when the doctor came to treat Lu Xinyi's swollen foot. He hadn't let her go and sat beside her, watching how she winced in pain and bit her lower lip as she tried to stop her tears from flowing.

The doctor gently pressed around the ankle to determine which ligaments were injured and tried to move it in different directions. Lu Xinyi hissed and her grip on her husband's arm tightened.

"You're lucky there aren't any broken bones, Miss Lu but your ankle is mildly tender and swollen it may take at least five days before you can walk properly. Make sure you rest your ankle by not walking on it." The doctor said and let one of the servants taking an ice pack to keep the swelling down.

"I'll give you some pain medications that can help control pain and swelling." His last words for the couple before leaving the VIP room with his assistants.

"Xinxin, is it still painful? Do you wanna go home?" Xiao Lan asked worriedly. The guilt on her face made Lu Xinyi worry.

"I will be fine. It hurts, yes." F*cking hell it hurts a lot, Lu Xinyi wanted to scream but did it internally. She didn't get a chance to get even her Aunt Ruying.

"You can stay here for the meantime." Madam Shen said, her eyes drifted to her younger grandson who was unusually silent at the moment. She sauntered towards Shen Xue and whispered to his ear. "Don't blame yourself. No one wants Xin'er to get hurt. Now let's go, we still have other guests to look out for."

Shen Xue bowed his head in shame and considered his grandmother's words. His elder brother rarely asks him for a favor but the moment he asked, Shen Xue failed him terribly. He nodded his head and walked closely to Madam Shen as they left the couple and Xiao Lan within the VIP Area.

"You must be hungry. I'll go downstairs and ask someone to bring you food." Xiao Lan took a quick glimpse of Shen Yi's brooding face. She was too scared to say anything more. Shen Yi was clearly in a bad mood and his temperament made him a difficult person to deal with. She left without a word and left them alone.

Shen Yu felt bad seeing how the woman in his arms had been treated by her family. He couldn't imagine that she had been enduring those people for years. The scarlet mark on her cheek infuriated him more. He had never been this angry before.

When they were left alone, Shen Yi took his wife back into his, brought her to his previous room within the Shen Mansion and put her on the bed. Lu Xinyi did not say a word and just curled up beside him. She knew that her husband was angry and distressed because of what happened to her. She snuggled up against him and said, "Darling, I'm tired."

Seeing her state, Shen Yi was not sure what to do with her. His hand stroke her head lovingly.

"Then sleep. I will be here when you wake up," he whispered back, kissing her forehead.

Lu Xinyi smiled but she felt warm. She hadn't felt this way for a long time and had forgotten what it feels like when someone was concerned about her well being. These days she couldn't help but find herself falling in love with him all over again.

A few moments later, Lu Xinyi drifted into slumber, leaving her husband wide awake. Making sure that his wife was safe and asleep, Shen Yi climbed out from the bed and tucked in Lu Xinyi with the blanket, protecting her from the coldness of the night.

He walked towards the huge window and opened it. His phone from his coat vibrated letting him know there was an incoming call. Shen Yi took his phone and answered it expecting good news from Qiao He.

"I have taken all the details you needed, Boss Yi" Qiao He said from the other end.

"Send out this order and tell everyone that whoever support or made a transaction with Crystal Sun Enterprise shall never receive any favors from the Shen Group. Inform all partners and clients that we will never conduct business to those who are affiliated with Sun Corporation and any of their subsidiary."

Crystal Sun Enterprise was the company founded and owned by Sun Ruying. It was one of the most prominent commercial enterprises within the country. Qiao He wondered what triggered Shen Yi to make an all-out attack at one of the Sun family businesses. Did something bad happen to the young mistress?

Sun Ruying dared to harm his woman then she should face the consequences. She had it coming. After all, no one had dared to hurt Lu Xinyi without receiving the wrath of her demon husband.
