Positives Well thought out magic system with an in-depth explanation. Honestly I only read the book for the magic system. The characters were realistic (in the first quarter of the novel) and the author showed the dichotomy between a medieval world and our modern world pretty well. The main character was realistic and relatable. Negatives There's a couple chapters of sh*t translation a few hundred chapters in. Some very forced Chinese propaganda and weird arguments agaist capitalism. I skipped it and there was no overall impact in the story. Some plot devices are left behind and forgotten; mainly his abilities, spells, side characters. I didn't like how there were less and less chapters about the real world and its impacts on characters. The author would stopwriting about the real world for dozens of chapters and then slap an arc in to maintain the theme. Conclusion It's excellent in the beginning but gets bad towards the halfway point.

No matter how much I want to write a positive review, I can't. This novel has a really good magic system that makes it easy to understand but still leaves it understandable that it's hard to learn from the characters. The balance and interactions between the game and reality are really good, without the typical mistakes. But there are so many mistakes, both big and small, that it's just terrible. Most things are good at the start, but everything gets worse as the story goes along. The author introduces entire new systems just to never use them. The relationships are carefully crafted at the beginning, just to later ignore them. Slowly, every chapter has a s*x scene. The MC starts with "S*x is good, but I'm not a s*x-crazed maniac" and literally f*cks every female character except two by the end. At the end, he has like six women in his harem, and there is only one there which is logical. The ending is simply phenomenal. The quality that was already at a low level just plunges into the bedrock in such a graceful way that makes high divers take notes. In 50 chapters, we suddenly have aliens (literally intruded on in the last 50 chapters), different realms, and see rape as an okay thing without any logic.

So, I liked the magic system very much and enjoyed watching the journey of becoming stronger of the mc. . . BUT, no matter how unique the magic system was or how good the video game and real life parts 'interacted' with each other, personally I don't like harem, but even considering that, I don't think it was necessary in this novel. It would have been so much better without any kind of romance/harem between the mc and other characters, trust me. You probably already noticed that I wasn't really reading this novel because of anything else, but the story and the magic aspects. . . and that would have been possible even with Harem or similar, BUT there were just too many sexual elements in the novel, especially s*x jokes or the like. . . so if you like those things, go for it, I guess, but be warned that the ending is very rushed (if you can really call this an ending. . . ) and is thus not very good. . . if you do read this and like the story, I'd recommend stopping to read it a few dozens of chapters before the end, so you don't ruin your possible good read. . . ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I really wanted to give this novel a good score but I can't because of how bad the last 100-200 chapters are. You can see when the author gave up on the story and just wanted it to be done. In the first part of the story it's really well paced and there are tons of plot hooks for later chapters but once you get to the end of the story the author drops a lot of the plot hooks and abandons them because they are in the way of ending the story. The mc near the end of the story just starts to gain power for no reason and every girl he has every looked at fall for him in seconds. It's so rushed and bad but it sucks because the beginning was amazing.

So, I'm not really a fan of game based novels, but somehow I made myself to read this and WOW. STORY: The mc, Roland is normal guy with a normal job, until he buys the new, very limited vr cabin, just becouse he wants to give it a try. In this new virtual world with reeealy lifelike NPCs, he becomes a mage, which is the hardest class, but lucky for him, he has a tallent for it, making him the most powerful mage, or even player in the game. In reality, he makes a lot of money from the game, he goes to hang out with friends and some usual stuff. But something is strange with this new virtual world, Rolad has a doubt, maybe it's not really just virtual? Heavy Spoilers to those who don't like the vr part: The mc will develop magic in the real world, and even becomes as strong in reality as he is in the games, but is's a longer process. CHARACTERS: Personally, I quite liked them, they are colorful and unique. The mc has his own personality, and makes rational decisions. There is harem in the story, but is was okay, even though I hate harems. FUN FACT: Originally, the mc would have benn one of Roland's friend (yes, the one with the dragon), but the author changed his mind, thinkink that plot would be too cliché. THE ENDING: My god, the worst endig I've ever seen. It just comes out of nowhere, like there is a brig problem and mc's maybe girfriend just told him something important, by the way the world is going to end in 100 years, END. The writer apologized for the ending, saying he was stressed out and had personal life peoblems. It's rumored that he will continue the story, but we don't know when. OVERALL: It has become one of my favourite novel, along with Solo Leveling. Interesting story, very few cliché with some suprises in it. READ IF YOU LIKE: OP mc, Mages, Fantasy world, Hidden powers and smart mc.

Too many sex jokes. The harem gets disgusting. It was good and fun early on (a few hundred chaps) but it just gets worse and worse. You may want to read it for a while if you don't mind dropping it midway.

It was good for the most part besides all the weird sex stuff mentioned all the time throughout the novels. Then i just dropped it around the part where rolands semen had magical properties that gave people in the real world magic.

The beginning of the story is not very exciting but then after that all the way through to like 50 chapters before the end is absolutely high end stuff. The magic system isn't exactly groundbreaking but the journey you take with the protagonist in exploring the path of a magic is truly unique and I haven't seen it done elsewhere. A slight disappointment that the tags lied and there is no R-18 content and I was also slightly bugged that in a sense the side characters had more plot armor than the main character did. Furthermore the end of the story was super rushed to say the least, I suspect the author had a plan on what they were going to do but in my opinion they should have maybe adapted to how the story was going and come up with a better ending because it was just really confusing and emersion breaking. Whereabouts to stop before the story gets messed up: The nonsense starts just after Roland has evolved into a demigod.

OK this will be a long review about the entire story. This is a great read the while way. The magic is solid and has a great progression. The "game" is fairly good, you get the sense that Roland shouldn't be that lucky which is explained later by the GM manipulating everything for Roland and Schuck. The set-up for the next novel is interesting and I want to find the next novel soon. Now the romance. This is both a great part and the worst part. All the women are: Night Tide Sands, Anna, Stephanie, Lady Bluebird, Winter wolf holy lady, Mysteria, Sophie, Elise, and Vivian. Now let me break down what I like about each women and how I think it should have ended up. 1. Night Tide Sands(NTS): introduced early and had a crush on Roland for the entire story until she eventually convinced Roland's friends to get him drunk and then she has sex with him. At the end she has a child with him. For the most part I liked NTS but I don't like the sudden leap of crushing to basically raping Roland. Dude was so drunk he had no recollection of the night. A lot better way would be to JUST TELL HIM HOW YOU FEEL. Still could have them have sex and her getting pregnant. 2. Anna: introduced relatively early and was a strong fighter while also married to a small king. She left the king because she was about to be assassinated and Roland saves her so she forms and attachment. This persists throughout the story and she is the main girl. I like this character she is strong and reliable but not over used in fights, and is the obvious main girl. 3. Stephanie: the future Queen of a large country and has Roland help her survive many attacks eventually they sleep together and bla bla. I'm more a fan of her just being Roland friend. Their is no romantic build up, it's just one day she wants to have sex with him. 3. Lady blue bird: she is Stephanie's friend and that'd it. The character adds nothing. Their is no reason for her to exist. She is just there. 4. Winter wolf Holt Lady: second in charge of her clan of wolf people, is first met when Roland wants to find an Infinite water source, and pops up again when Roland is being hunted by liches. Again I believe should have just been a friend, he uses her clan for help and she does a sexy dance ritual that Roland sees. Only reason for her existence is dog girl fetish. 5. Mysteria: she is the Godess of magic and helps Roland quite a bit. This is a mabey OK addition. I think it's fine. Round out a trifecta of his world(NTS) game world human (Anna) and then a God. 6. Sophie: godess of the neither world is introduced when hunting the true ancestors of the vampires and she trades a divine weapon in exchange to save the vampire. Their is no romance between the two, she has a very Timid personality when she is with friends and seems child like and innocent. She should have stayed a friend that's it. 7. Elise: godess of life she comes up alot and gives Roland stuff for his help. I don't like this either. No romance stuff happens between them at all. But in the last 50 chapters it's shoe horned in. 8. Vivian: an early girl who had a big crush on Roland for a while. Vivian could have been a good character. She is really forgotten about a lot. But I mostly like how she ended with her falling out of love with Roland because her life moved on.
