Well….. I’m a good 4100 chapters into the story and am now thinking about taking a break. It’s not that the story doesn’t have potential, the author makes sure to introduce new ideas rather frequently— that is, in addition to recycling themes that are very obviously similar to previous story arcs. It’s just that right now, the MC is kinda stuck in a transitional arc where none of the plot lines I want to read about will likely be mentioned. His cultivation progress has slowed to a crawl, it’s been over 200 chapters since his last breakthrough and he’s constantly being suppressed by people stronger than him. He has to rely entirely on others to prevent himself being killed. That’s kinda frustrating. This 9th volume started around ch. 3800 and is set to continue until ch. 5100 or so — imagine that, a story arc with 1300 chapters 💀 But that’s not even the issue. It’s more so that once I’m done with this MASSIVE transitional arc, there’ll be only 700 chaps left until I’m caught up 💀😂

It's an old school Cultivation classic and arguably can be considered one of the pillers of the genre, from which hundreds of other web-novels/light-novels were inspired. For many of us more seasoned readers of the genre, it's one of our first cultivation novels, and thus despite it's many negative points, still holds a place in our hearts. The story arcs are repetitive, but in my personal opinion, each repitition has its own unique spin. No two ancestral trial grounds are exactly the same, although their puzzles and challenges are certainly similar enough. It feels like an episodic adventure cartoon from the 90s; the MC is constantly saving damsels, investigating ruins, and encountering new copy-pasta enemies at every corner. Definitely a spaghetti-novel, but who doesnt like spaghetti?

Honestly I couldn't agree with you more, this is one hell of a book, which made me fall in love with a xianxia cultivation protagonist, to all those who end up coming to the arcs about his parents will also fall in love with their characters as well, especially Chu Xuanyuan being an absolute badass of a character. To all those who want to start eastern cultivation fantasy, start with this book or Martial Peak, Emperor's Domination, NSHBA or even Battle through the heavens, absolute classics.

Hey could you recommend me some cultivation or system harem novels where mc is ruthless, i like comedic faceslapping but not when just everyone insults the mc and mc just lets the guy go after punishing. Any novel like that where mc is not outright a villain but not a pushover as well. Please give recommendations you seem seasoned, i have read RI, ISSTH, AST, and some more

Is MC naive or sigma male ? Or pushover. And yeah what with this tag rape victim became lover .did he married some of kind of girl who was r*p*d? Then my respect for him increased

None of his girls were r*p*d by other men... there was one girl that gave him some drug and intended to take advantage of him, but he managed to flip the script and took advantage of her instead, or something like that. I don't fully remember the details though, its been a long time since I read the begining. But he is not in a relationship with her yet, although the possibility is still left open, but he doesn't like to expand his harem beyond his current 3.5 wives. .5 because his world spirit told him she will only marry him after he becomes the strongest, but the mutual attraction and affection is clearly there, so it's just a matter of time.

One of the worst novels to ever be written. The author is just horrible. And God help you if you could survive the first 1000 chaps

One of the best thing I like is the depth of this novel. The author gives a shadow of something that will happen after thousands of chap and we don't even know. And not many imp characters are forgotten (I am they are but you'll understand when you read.) It's like there rn are 5.7k chapters but we still have to uncover some mysteries from 1st arc and 2nd and all previous arcs have connections. It's like everything leading up to here and it's not like author forgot about those mysteries, he mentions them. There are many characters in all previous arc which are still present, even from the first arc and if my intuition is correct which always is many old characters will be coming in limelight , many already have in the few chaps released before me writing this comment. And his wives, it's not like any other cliche novel they are forgotten, girls which were introduced in first arc are still here and still getting powerful.

After dropping this novel few years back for stacking up the chapter, I badman is back. Before I did not wish my presence to be known and just tried to be like crouching tiger and hidden dragons and never left a comment on any novels But now I must make people know the presence of badman and will leave my mark on every novel/chapter I read and will also go and leave my presence all novel i read before. I badman was here.

I stopped reading at 1700's or so because I wanted to stock up more chapters. Well, that was a few years ago along with "THE EMPEROR'S DOMINATION". These are the classics among cultivation novels. Yet, now, here I am thinking whether to continue reading from where I stopped for the reason that I fear that flow of the story might become bland or anything after a few years of my absence.
