Summary

For the sake of his family, Ren embarked on the popular VRMMORPG, COVENANT, that used real-time in-game currency. But being a mediocre player who only knows how to gather information, he was put in a supporting role.

As the game explodes in popularity and every multibillion-dollar company invested in the game, things have turned for the worse for Ren. Due to the amount of information he gathered, the cheats, secrets, quests, and bugs he discovered, he was silent in fear of selling the information to the other guilds.

But given a second chance, he went back in time when his father was still alive and COVENANT was just in its starting phase.

This time . . . he wouldn’t be that guy on the side who gathered information from day in and day out for ten years.

Equipped with the games knowledge he accumulated, he will become . . . an Alchemist!

Chrono Mage? Djin Master? Summoner? Necromancer?
Chaos Lord?

What good are those?

Sure they’re powerful and rare classes and sought after by guilds, but it’s the alchemist who forged artifacts and concocts rare items and potions that gets the most coins at the end of the day!

It was better than being a blacksmith or a crafter! Plus, he could use all sorts of magic without limit to race and class!

It was the ultimate class! And no one even knows it!

This novel is so good. The world building is getting better over time and each and every character has a good story, it doesn't feel like they are rushed.. Very good read. I can't wait for more chapters.

There are a lot of thing I hate about this novel, but one thing hate the most is when Ren's d*ck spin like a helicopter rotor when he see Evie.

I'm so confused about the secret identity thing of his. What's the use of it, if you are famous with both of them. Wasn't that the whole point so he won't be famous irl and no one can sh*t on him and his family? See where that got him. Feels like a weird plot with no sense to it. Introducing a secret identity for reasons and later on reveal it's him so people can react surprised.

the masked one is for Pii user. because Pii is the only one of kind and he want to explore anything that usually cant be explained not to explain himself..

as i understand it, he wants it to be the dealer of his "secret deals" as an alchemist later. but since the author is extendind the story in this arc of being an archanist and not becoming the next class, it feels like the identity is useless. AND (the biggest reason i agree with you is) Pii doesn't get enough screen time

Hello readers! I was wondering if you could tell me if the story contains humor? I'm interested in this story but can't read something if it's too serious. Also, is the main character attaching?

I honestly think it is good so far, bit funny at times I honestly don't get the hate against it, MC get a tiny bit obsessed about money but I get being broke and all LOL.

I agree that the pacing is not too slow or too quick , but the battles they have in game have every other detail except how the battle actually goes or how much damage the mc does . Because of this there are a lot of chapter you can just skim through. Personally I like the life of slice elements of the novel more than the in game stuff.

There is some huomour and love interest, not sure of it will actually happen, like they did in sword emperor(the mc could pick uo girls like they were pebbels on a mouantain, then do nothing)

I'd say it has humor elements, focus is mostly on power/money/relationships (family and others)

This novel is pretty good, and I would suggest not listening to the other comments hating on this. It's a nice plot that is not too slow paced and not too quick either. Most of the chapters are about the mc playing the game and the story is well planned out. Though there may be some problems with the minor details, like how much health a certain monster has and how long it takes to defeat it, it is a pretty good novel. Also, unlike other novels, the mc can't be taken advantage of by every snob nosed girl. The girl the mc likes, Evie, also doesn't run up to the mc and ask for help every fricking time for once. This novel is great, and I would definitely give it a try. At least read until chapter 100.

I skipped the entire guild war arc and the only thing I needed to know was that mc defeated scar and now he is famous

You really did the right thing. It was a really dull journey there; I don't know how I bore with it and read it all. XD

Took a break at the guild war part, as it was dragging on. Glad to see it was the right choice.

First impression it was good, but after reading through the chapters it became trash!. The mc have gone from rebirth, so he should be more mentally mature yet he can't even control his emotions into this girl (eve ) aside from that his also petty at vengeful. Come on bro?! , His goal is to become an alchemist so that he could become rich, yet his slowly being deviated from his goal due this random people, quest etc. Its closing 300 chap and im already losing interest with this. 😔😑

Fell off on this one started with potential but the video game part falls apart quickly and most character development is a drag to get through as it feels like they focus on things not relevant to the story at the point the reader is at.

The problem is that it feels like every 5 chapters or so make one full chapter and it takes a while to get those 5 chapters

Thanks for that review. I hate stories that drag for no reason.

It seems that I forgot to mention some things in my review, but in my defense, I was pretty tired and with barely any f*cks left to give. This novel is absurdly sexist, to the point that I'd be surprised if the author ever even talked to a woman in their life before. It feels like they read Chinese novels and that's where they got their info about women from. I'll also add that the author themselves don't seem to understand how their game works. I'll give an example: MC deals 500 dmg per spell with a 2sec cooldown, while the monster has 4, 000-5, 000 HP, but somehow the fight lasts for minutes with an entire party with him, party which has items given by the MC that deal 200+ dmg each. And this is when the author even bothers to describe anything. Well, the game and its systems are utter trash either way. A game that forces you to use your real name and appearance would have barely any players, streamers whose appearance and name are known to the public, and that's it.

Pretty bad novel, not really worth reading. If you can ignore the bad grammar, you might just get stuck in the next pitfall, which surelly also comes from the developers so called "shrewdness", which is terrible game design and horrible marketing choices. Let's be honest if the marketing team of this company tells their board of directors that they won't announce the release date of the game and that it'll be a surprise just for funsies (cuz let's be honest, more players on the first day = more money) they would be all jobless in the next day, not to mention that the game is super unfriendly and has a lot of awful systems. Don't forget the forced romance situations, always gotta include the trope of: "be a d*ck to a possible FML that way she'll fall madly in love with you for no reason at all". It's the only way to get the girls, am I right? Could say more, but if you still think it's a good choice to continue reading, who am I to tell you otherwise? Enjoy reading this masterpiece.
