It was really good up to chapter 300 or 400. It had really good comedy but mc suddenly becomes a racist and hypocrite
It was good until mc said [I’m Chinese… no matter where I am! I am the blood of China!] [Even if I’m the only one in this world!] And suddenly became a racist and a hypocrite . Emperor is way better than mc , he is kinda evil not like mc who pretends to pig and eat a tiger, Emperor is smart, scheming and cunning but mc won, all because of f**kin plot armor. Emperor has no proper romance cause he is not the mc. I hate this F**k!!
A very bad, incomplete, unsatisfactory ending, unnaturally brief and unreasonable .. The hero in 4 chapters became a god .. and many things were not explained and many characters next to the hero appeared as if they were npc .. For example, the mist palace when it was destroyed and millions died We didn't see Miao's reaction..and you have a lot of unclear things at the end, as if the writer got up in the morning and said let's finish a novel in one chapter.
one of the worst ive read so far tbh. the writing is poorly translated. not MTL bad, but almost. way too many metaphors or Chinese idioms that were basically google translated. there was literally a paragraph were the phrases "courting death" "shame your ancestors" and "let this young master show you hell or something" were all present. but the biggest reason no one should read this is its just boring. almost no action, its a poorly translated political drama if anything. baited by synopsis hard.
good novel I recommend it
If you guys have read transcending the 9 heavens, he's the one who makes the man's sword
What is with the ridiculousness of edgy characters being unable to spar because "they only know how to kill?" How did they learn if any interaction with a partner better than them would kill them? If they didn't learn from people that only know how to kill, why did they forget every single other aspect of martial arts? Even if they're always trying to kill, any competent opponent would require some amount of defense that requires opening, so not knowing how to strike when vital points are protected is just one of dumbest chuuni tropes that annoys me every single time I see it. It's like they're bragging about being mentally handicapped and how it makes them better than everyone else. Even an idiot could figure out that if you know all the spots to kill them, you can just hit them *not in a place that kills them*. Outside of the genre annoyances though, it's mostly been fine even if the MC is kind of an idiot. Evil Monarch feels kinda like a misnomer though.
I am 250 chapters in and this not a bad novel, writing is good and translation is also good. Mc can sometimes come up with some stupid or illogical world view or an opinion and will act on it which can be slightly irritating, there are few other minor things that can be annoying but that is all. Mc is very arrogant or at times pretends to be arrogant (to disguise himself) and some of the conversations he has with other young (or old) masters are really fun to read, though at around chapter 100 I think translators changed and the tone of novel sligtly changed, it is still funny but not as much and I don't know if it was the author or the previous translator who actual made those parts funny. Definitely recommend reading this.
There are some story plots in here that can make for a second book, so is there a second book?
I completly agree that autor wrote many unnecessary repetitions of some stuff in the novel. But come on, for the story, It was still totally WORTH IT !!! :D
