Peerless Battle Spirit
Chapter 6: The Longhu Mountain Range

In the next few days, Qin Nan fully immersed himself in cultivating.

The Divine Battle Spirit floated behind him and absorbed the Qi of the Heavens and Earth at a rapid pace following Qin Nan’s breathing tempo. The streams of Qi flowed into his body like two giant snakes.

After the Divine Battle Spirit had ranked up to the seventh-grade Huang rank, its cultivating speed was doubled.

That being said, it took Qin Nan three days in total to raise his cultivation to the second-layer Body Tempering Realm.

“The Body Tempering Realm is split into ten layers. Each time the cultivation ranks up, the flesh of the cultivator is strengthened. It’s more difficult to rank up to the higher layers, as the amount of Qi required increases significantly.”

“Even with the help of the Divine Battle Spirit, I should not slacken my pace. I should work harder.”

Qin Nan mumbled with a firm look as he soon began cultivating again. Even though he possessed an outstanding Martial Spirit, his current cultivation of the second-layer Body Tempering Realm was still too weak.

……

...Meanwhile, in the Conference Hall of the Qin Clan...

Qin Tian wore a purple mink coat as he sat at the leading position. An imperious aura was emitted from his relatively bulky figure.

Before him sat three elderly men.

One of them wore a golden robe and a confident look, completely ignoring the pressure from Qin Tian. As a matter of fact, he had been unwilling to look at Qin Tian since he had entered the Conference Hall.

This old man was Qin Tieba, the Supreme Elder of the Qin Clan, who was also Qin Changkong’s father.

The other two old men sitting behind Qin Tieba were the second and third elders of the Qin Clan, who held great authority in the clan.

They sat carefully behind while their eyes glistened looking at both Qin Tian and Qin Tieba. Since Qin Changkong had awoken his Martial Spirit, the conflict between the Patriarch and Supreme Elder had totally escalated!

“So, what’s the Patriarch’s intention of having a meeting with us here?” Qin Tieba asked calmly while raising his tea cup.

The elders were having the same doubts too, as it was still too early to discuss about the Clan Meeting now.

“Since the Supreme Elder has raised the question, I shall make it direct.” Qin Tian spoke with an expressionless face, “I’m gathering you here to inform you that I will be allocating one thousand Body Tempering Pills for Qin Nan under my name as the clan’s Patriarch.”

The words served as a bomb detonating in the hall, giving the three elders an enormous shock.

Qin Tieba even spat out the tea in his mouth and became enraged, “WHAT? Qin Tian? What did you say? You dare to allocate one thousand Body Tempering Pills for that piece of trash, are you out of your mind?”

The second and third elders were absolutely stunned as well. That’s one thousand Body Tempering Pills we’re talking about!

Qin Tian remained calm as he spoke, “Since the Supreme Elder does not agree, five hundred Body Tempering Pills shall do. I’ve already compromised on my part, shouldn’t you do the same also?”

“You’re insane!”

Qin Tieba burst out screaming. He almost went mad after hearing the words.

What do you mean you’ve compromised? Do you seriously assume that changing the value from one thousand Body Tempering Pills to five hundred was considered compromising?

“Qin Tian, I’m telling you. I’ll never agree with this! My son only receives ten Body Tempering Pills each month, and you are telling me that you want five hundred Body Tempering Pills to be allocated to your son? In your f**king dreams!”

Qin Tieba uttered a furious roar.

The Second Elder shook his head also, “Patriarch, I don’t agree either. Five hundred Body Tempering Pills is equivalent to the amount of resources distributed to the disciples over five months. We didn’t say anything when you gave Qin Nan ten Body Tempering Pills previously, but that doesn’t mean we will let you give him five hundred pills this time!”

The Third Elder immediately voiced out his opinion too. He had no intention to participate in the conflict between Qin Tian and Qin Tieba, but Qin Tian’s demand was too unacceptable.

Qin Tian continued to speak in a calm tone, “I’m not here to discuss with you. I’ve already made the decision. Don’t worry, from now onward, I will not take any salary from the clan to compensate for the pills I’ve taken this time.”

As the Patriarch of the Qin Clan, he was given fifteen Body Tempering Pills every month.

In the long run, Qin Tian could definitely pay off the debt in a few years. As a matter of fact, it was nowhere close to a fair trade for him.

“No way! No f**king way! There’s no way I will allow the pills to be wasted like that…” Qin Tieba burst out screaming. He had initially planned to allocate a significant amount of pills for Qin Changkong to cultivate, but now that Qin Tian was going to take five hundred pills, how would he be able to allocate pills for his son?

Before he could finish his sentence, a thunderous voice instantly burst out.

“It’s decided. Meeting dismissed!”

The suppression of the Xiantian Realm was emitted following Qin Tian’s roar.

Qin Tieba’s initially furious look was replaced by a pale face, whose figure shuddered violently. The eyes of the elders behind him were filled with hints of fear.

Qin Tian, the strongest cultivator of the Qin Clan—the only Xiantian Realm expert in the clan.

……

It went without saying that Qin Nan was clueless as to the scene taking place in the Conference Hall of the Qin Clan. He was still fully focused in the process of cultivating.

“A man’s body consists of the flesh, the muscles, the bones, the inner organs, the blood, etc.

“Although the Body Tempering Realm is able to improve the strength of one’s body as a whole, the cultivating process focuses on strengthening different parts of the body at a time.

“In my case, the flesh has been well tempered. It’s now time to temper the muscles and bones!”

After Qin Nan had awakened the Divine Battle Spirit, it appeared that his thinking process had been vaguely affected too. He was quicker and better at finding answers to some obscure and complicated questions. He could easily identify the key to solving these questions with a single thought.

However, Qin Nan did not realize this himself.

After arriving at this thought, Qin Nan began guiding the Qi inside his body toward his muscles and bones. The amount of Qi inside his body gradually decreased as it merged with his muscles and bones.

As the Qi thoroughly merged with all his muscles and bones, a faint explosion took place inside his body, indicating that his body had been further strengthened.

...Time gradually passed—three days were gone in the blink of an eye...

Qin Nan continued to guide the Qi inside his body in a cycle. He was now in a unique state of mind; even he could not tell how many times the Qi had cycled inside his body.

His figure shuddered violently all of a sudden, as he felt a terrifying force emerging from deep within his body.

Qin Nan’s eyes sprung open while he rose from the ground. A series of explosions could be heard coming from his body, while a powerful force burst out from his figure, blowing the mist around him away.

“This is… the third-layer Body Tempering Realm!”

Qin Nan’s eyes flickered with joy after feeling the enormous strength inside his body. His effort of cultivating diligently for the past few days had not been in vain.

If Qin Nan were to tell anyone that he had ranked up to the third-layer Body Tempering Realm in just a few days’ time, many disciples would rather die instead.

Qin Nan’s cultivating speed was too terrifying.

The capabilities of a seventh-grade Huang ranked Martial Spirit should not be underestimated.

“Phew, since father promised me, he will definitely get me five hundred Body Tempering Pills. That being said, it would stir up some trouble for him. I’ll have to wait at least for a few more days.”

Qin Nan pondered for a second. Although he was clueless about the scene taking place in the Conference Hall, he could somehow imagine it.

“Improving my cultivation alone is nowhere enough. I shall practice my Martial Skills as well in order to become stronger in battles. Speaking of which, I shall make my way to the Longhu Mountain Range to start practicing this Thundercrash Saber Art!”

Qin Nan’s eyes flickered as he soon made up his mind.

The Longhu Mountain Range was located to the north of Linshui City. It was said that people could hear the cries of dragons and tigers from the woods, thus it was given its name.[1]

Although no one could prove the rumors to be true, quite a large amount of beasts resided in the Longhu Mountain Range, thus making it a great place for cultivators to practice their Martial Skills.

Before awakening the Divine Battle Spirit, Qin Nan had frequently trained his Martial Skills here under the supervision of his guardians, who were appointed to protect him.

On a side note, he had been struck by a ray of lightning when he was practicing at the Longhu Mountain Range, granting him the Divine Battle Spirit.

However, Qin Nan never thought that he would stumble into someone unexpected while he was practicing the Thundercrash Saber Art in the Longhu Mountain Range...
