The EXCITEMENT that you can feel from Heinley through the screen is amazing!! And poor Naiver becoming excited for the baby to come and at the same time scared <3 Also, the baby??? She seriously threw her own child? I get that she is experiencing PTSD with her previous child but it hurt to see an innocent child be treated this way.

Even if your baby is dead, what mother throws her poor angel baby’s body? Not any loving mother would do that…

So much trauma this chapter! 😢 Spoiler AlertRashta’s vision of her dead baby was heartbreaking. As much as I don’t care for her, I can understand her life has been difficult and traumatic, and I do feel bad at times. Also seeing Navier’s worry and doubt about her pregnancy being a misdiagnosis instead of being excited and happy was heartbreaking as well. I’m happy Heinry seems to be recognizing why she reacted the way she did and is there to support her.

I know Rashta is awful, but I can’t help feeling bad for her. She was set up to fail. She was made a concubine with barely any education on the rules of court or her position. Yes, she acted badly towards Navier, but so much would not have happened if Soveshu had enforced the rules and made her position clear instead of enabling her. Then he elevates this uneducated former slave barely out of her teens to the position of Empress with little to no support or time to prepare. She is thrown into a political environment where everyone is expecting her to fail, then given immense power and responsibility that she has no idea how to handle. Is anyone surprised that she is going crazy? She’s obviously suffering from PTSD from her time as a slave and traumatic first birth, but Soveshu will make her out to be the villain of the situation he alone created, so he can cast her aside with no guilt and preserve his own reputation. Rashta may be a monster, but she is a monster of Soveshu’s creation.

I’d have to disagree, you did point out some very crucial points, but there’s no way Rashta deserves any pity. We get that she didn’t understand the political world and the emperor’s enabling didn’t help matters either, but no one sent her to seduce a married man, sure the system allowed concubines, but her attitude towards the empress showed who she really was as a person, she continuously shifted her evil actions to other people, killed with no hesitation, destroyed Navier’s self esteem by rubbing in the fact that she couldn’t give birth. I’m sorry as a woman her actions were just plain shit, you could have the love of the man but that doesn’t mean you have to ruin another woman to satisfy your abominable ego.

Spoiler Alert Points to be aware of: Rashta, who knows nothing but to seduce men (self-admitted), seduced the married Emperor who had no previous concubines. Rashta may be uneducated, but where did she get the idea that sleeping with someone’s husband made you her sister? Nowhere. She was being a **nt. Everything she has done has been to supplant the rightful empress that worked hard for her people, and every excuse she made was a “pity me” excuse for why she did horrible things. She has planned to have her firstborn murdered. She THREW her baby (sorry, no good mother would throw her angel baby’s body away, even if it was covered in blood). Her first reaction to doing wrong is not to do better, but to shift blame and hurt others. Rashta is pure trash. Sure, she had bad experiences, but she made the decisions that make her a bad human being.
