I still think to this day Wang Lin has had the best revenge arc I’ve read from any novel, I was reading Dragon heart and it reminded me of this novel it’s pretty good

Pls do tell when the mc gets stronger and not pushed around because I don’t know if I can handle all of his relatives and sect mates

Very good novel, although it has its empties, I argue the story is fantastic and the main character had very good development, as did the secondary characters for me in the novels that I read enters the top 1 of my favorite novels.

I would have suggested you to read from the starting as the donghua skipped many things but I am sure you have already started reading so nvm.good luck reading

Yes at first the Donghua was very rushed but after chapter 9 or 10, they were under the rhythm of the adaptation and they are not skipping things.

Around chapter 170. I'm not sure of the exact chapter the donghua is currently on because it's pacing is really fast.

Chapter 386, and so far I am kinda annoyed at how nonchalant the topic of souls is used. It's used so often and doesn't even feel important anymore. It's a vital thing and soul injuries are obviously terrible but mc's injury doesn't even turn him into an invalid like it does most other mcs. It's kinda annoying how not important the souls are, even though they ARE souls.

I have finished it. It has become my personal favorite, even if something better comes out. No novel can take Renegade immortal's place in my heart.

I just realized that renegade immortal has both manhua and donghua (anime) adaptations.

I've read this novel before upto like 130 something and dropped due to circumstances. Does it get better? Is it's plot worth immersing into? Or will I get disappointed? I've heard Er Gen novels are all great and that there's a certain order to read. So could you also add the order to read Er Gen novels? Thanks.

Yes, it's definitely worth reading. It's a little slow, but it's one of the best cultivation novels, and it's worth reading even for the universe Ergen created. 1-renegade immortal 2-pursuit of truth 3-ı shall seal the haevens 4-a will eternal 5-outside of time

You are right, but PoT is very difficult to read and the cultivation method is very complicated. I wrote it so that it would be easier for him to understand if he read RI first.

Not that much from how much I have read. Renegade immortal is more complex, especially essence and celestial cultivation. Ancient cultivation is as simple as it gets but man it is metal.

I don't know, PoT's cultivation system has always seemed different to me. They call the same realms by so many names and I get confused after a while, and it's hard to understand the Chinese engravings.

That so more of a early translation problem because the terms used by one novel had to be used in the other because they are in the same verse. And some terms had not been translated in the original novel they were introduced at the time and the translator had to use original terms.

Er Gen's had a translator who specifically translated his novels into English, I wonder why he didn't?

Oh he did. But that translator aka deathblade only translated ISSTH and later novels.

Is there romance in this novel? And if so is it any good?

There certainly is, but don't get your hopes up as Er Gen isn't known for writing good romance subplot. I'd still recommend giving it a chance.

yeah I was raising my eyebrows at his interactions with Li Muwan seems kinda forced as of now. Dont really mess with their whole dynamic but it doesent want to make me throw up so at least its something ya know?

But there is not that much romance anyway. At least Ergen is self aware. Plus all the amazing things about outweigh the better than mediocre but not good romance.

I've reached 263 as a first time reader, and I must say, up till this mortal arc it's been a chore to read. It's like a worse Korean novel with how exhausting it was, action after action with no place to think or to rest. Very happy we get the mortal arc early on.
