Amazing character development, Lith's emotional growth happens without sacrificing the parts of his personality that initially drew you to like him. The romance in my opinion is good, no harems, thank god. And last but not least, the author gives zero f*cks if the character is in the mc's friend group, no one is truly save. . . except maybe one or two bit still. My one and only complain is that one of the "vilains' is still alive at chapter 2900, can't wait to see him get gutted alive.

It's a good fantasy novel with every aspect you could want in one book. One of my favorites even though there are some slow bits. I think the complaints about the romance are unfounded, they were fine, not exceptional, but good

I'm grateful for the time I spent reading Supreme Magus. This novel breaks away from the clichés with its realistic portrayal and absence of super plot armor, making it feel like a genuine biography. While not a masterpiece, it's far from a bad novel. However, it does have its drawbacks, such as dedicating hundreds of chapters to one arc and some forced plot elements like Kami and Lith's marriage. Yet, these elements also set it apart; their unexpected love story illustrates that love can blossom anywhere. Moreover, the depiction of Lith losing friends and evolving from an antisocial individual to a caring father adds depth to the narrative. What makes this novel stand out is its exceptional world-building. The author immerses readers so deeply into the story that it feels like you're right there alongside Lith, witnessing his transformation from a depressed kid to a likable person. The level of detail and immersion in the world-building truly sets this novel apart.

Great novel in my opinion, love the world building the characters the plot. I especially love how detailed the power system can be, and the fact that while the mc is kinda? a op mc, he is always the challenger, the underdog overall great read

There are so many things that could be said about this story, but one thing is for certain. Quylla should have died in the assassination attempt. That's when this story really started going down hill imo. Author is too afraid to kill off characters, even when they need to die. Especially when Lith is getting complacent. This guy needs to be battling against his emotions 24/7 cause he definitely isn't gonna lose anyone too important. The story started out more dark fantasy, but now is more generic sh*t. Author and Lith lost their edges. Author also started making people (Vastor) more important than they portrayed as. Someone else should've been the Master and he shot himself in the foot storyline wise by getting rid of an organization that can fight the guardians in favor of cheap and easy benefits in the now. Lith's family before him shouldn't have beast transformations. Lith should never have become so acquainted with the guardians. His wife and child should have died (or at least one of them should have). His father should have died. The fight with the mad kings daughter sucked *ss, her death was such a let down. She herself should've been more ruthless (who frees an immortal dragon bruh). All these older people should be trying to steal menadion's tower instead of helping Lith. Lith should've killed Balkor for killing Yuriel. RIP Manohar, he truly was the best of us. I could go into why all these things should've happened, but, honestly, I don't care enough to anymore. Why put in more effort than what this story is now worth. RIP SM, you were the Manohar of WNs.

If you’re here for fights and world building then this novel may be for you. However, if you’d also like some relationships and interactions then maybe it’s not for you. Could just be me, but I find some of them lacking, forced, and confusing. An example would be someone he meets, but nothing special happens. Yet when he’s on the verge of death, he bawls his eyes out of grief and anger for that someone. I could not find when such deep bond was formed. Again, could just be me.

Man, this is a hard one. This was the first web novel I ever read, and it was absolutely godly when I started it. World building was top notch, pacing was perfect, character development was even better. I loved the book so d*mn much. But recently, at currently 2. 9k chapters, the last 1k chapters have been a chore to read through. Sure, there are Epic moments here and there, but the pacing and development of the novel has slowweeddd down to a painful speed. Most of the drama feels forced, confrontations unnecessary, and so on. I still keep reading it for the once in a while good moments in the book though. It's my first love after all. I'll be here till I see how it ends. The novel starts out GREAT. Absolutely god tier first one thousand chapters. But quickly starts dropping afterwards. Still though, it's a good read. The first 1000 chapters will help you build enough love and interest in the story and characters to keep you going and coming back for more. Happy reading!

it starts alright, but quickly writes itself into a dumpster mc is a dumb cuck, who is slaving/degrading himself for a m*lf for no reason, there are inconsistencies in a story and characters, a lot of repetition and meaningless filler chapters, a supreme magus, does not act like a supreme magus or even someone with above room temperature IQ, but like an unsuccesfuly collar tie worker with internal complexes and emotional problems, attachments, which clearly represent author psyche leaking into his work.

Who is the M*lf you're talking about, I don't remember there being one in this novel.

Probably the hardest novel to review for me, Supreme magus has some of the best and some of the most frustrating moments I have ever read. Let's start on the good side, amazing protagonist, decent world building, fabulous power system, good antagonists(except one) and a good plot. Supreme magus also has some of the best character works and death scenes. On the other hand is obviously the romance, personally I like romance and although I don't think it's necessary but a good romance is always welcomed, that said this novel has some of the most frustrating relationship situations I have ever read. The constant back and forth is really painful to read and you can't really ignore it because it's a big part of this novel. Some times it feels like the author is forcing a certain plot or situation to happen. To wrap it up supreme magus has high highs and lows lows but I think the highs outweigh the lows. 4. 1/5

Please note that the review is after somewhere around 500 chapters. As the others have said, the romance between Lith and Kamile or whatever her name is is just terribly written and feels like it really shouldn't have continued for so long. Lith and Solus is a given, everyone wants them together, and tbh even them 2 with Phloria would have been bearable. If you find it bearable to need to skip chapters because of poorly written romance, ignore the bad reviews, the rest is actually rlly good. Lith just needed a patch, and somehow ended up keeping the patch in the end for some reason. Some good alternatives for this book I'd recommend are: Ar'Kendrithyst, The Beginning After The End, Tree of Aeons, or many others without romance. I prefer to separate magic from romance, just read romance books from experienced writers.
