The man forsaken by the world, the man a slave to money and the man known as the legendary God of War in the highly popular MMORPG Continent of Magic. With the coming of age, he decides to say goodbye, but the feeble attempt to earn a little something for his time and effort ripples into an effect none could ever have imagined.

Through a series of coincidences, his legendary avatar is sold for 3 billion won, bringing great joy to him, only to plunge him into despair at losing almost all of it to vicious loan sharks. With revelation of money through gaming, he rises from the abyss with new found resolve and steps forward into the new age of games led by the first ever Virtual Reality MMORPG, Royal Road.

GOOD NEWS!! The manhua is going to come back in late 2022 - I plan on reading this novel after LOTM cause I remember it has a really good story and there are hints about romance too. Have fun~

Sheesh. I'm at 500+ chapters but I didn't even remember the story so might just reread all over again coz it's finished now.

I don't remember which chapter I stopped but it's around the time Bardray became a swordmaster. At that point I gave up on the story since it became very repetetive. Did Weed end up becoming emperor in the end?

While the first two volumes have a somewhat decent translation. And when I say decent, I mean, it's exactly that... just barely adequate enough to not be frustrating but that's it. When you come to volume three, the translation takes a huge turn to the worse and top of that you'll have the translator adding full sentences/paragraphs where he explains why he didnt translate something, and then he translates it anyway.. It's just a big questionmark. Storywise it's around a 7.4/10 but with the garbage translation it's more of a 6/10, therefore I wouldnt be reading it, unless this is literally your only option. I havnt actually continued to read after volume 3 so the translation might get better? But hey, I suffered through 3 volumes and they were all really bad, like jesus, there's a lot of other novels out there :D

It's a decent read but I'd say 3/5 at best. However, I'd say the biggest weakness of the series is the VERY repetitive plot progression pattern: 1. MC gets summoned for a mission that is considerably difficult for his level. 2. MC is assigned a small army to accomplish this. If he doesn't have an army from the get-go, he'll eventually find himself in command of one. 3. MC grinds whenever he can to level up. 4. MC pulls of a victory using the army he was assigned to. 5. The whole thing gets recorded and aired on a TV show with a very high audience raiting. - Rinse and repeat-

Yo I legit started reading this some years ago and quit because I assumed that it was about to end and I wanted to marathon the rest of the chapters. Turns out I actually remembered what chapter I was at before I quit, it was chapter 212. yes, you read that right. 212 OUT OF 700+. I am oh so very behind so I shall dive into this arduous task once more and only come back when I am finished. Wish me luck for I will need it.

I waited to finish to read again. the first novel about games I read, and 5 years ago it was amazing as far as I read (about 150 chapters) hoping to be a 4.5/5 star

I am about to pick this up as well, how was it/did you finish reading it now and is it a 4,5 out 5 ?

maybe because I've read too many other novels with the same theme and I'm older now, but definitely a 4 out of 5 stars. it was worth rereading.

Should I read the manga or the novel (which is better?)

Usually the novel is better as it contains a lot more details that the manga/manwha generally skips or are to be interpreted from the background/art etc. Cannot say for certain if that is the case with this novel as I read part of it a long time ago, but you can read both or at least try both to see which one you like better. Also, a thing to keep in mind is that the art for the manwha changes every season so it is a bit jarring until you get used to it

I don't like the synopsis, but this novel has positive comments so I'm considering to read this novel after finishing another novel. Is it worth it?
