If you have lots of time to spare, you should read this. The story progression is good till 1000 chapters, then it becomes into CHINA NUMBA 1 pandering but alas, it is a good read regardless. I would reccommend, the ending is bit meh though and romance is seldom.

one of the best novels i ever read with a funny sometimes sad story, the characters develop constantly and the knowledge about religion is very intersting for a german who know almost nothing about eastern religions.

Currently at chapter 266, and have to say that it is worth reading. Although many concepts about Buddhism are explained in great depth, it's still isn't enough to deter one from reading it. If you're less appreciative of these information dumps, it's alright, you can skip them. Although they are info dumps, they play a small role in the story. Not in a major way, no. It's more subtle and allows for the reader to follow along with a birds eye view of why people react the way they do. As well as the customs of Buddhism. Not at all a way to convert people as previous comments have said. Instead, it is more geared towards informing and creating a nice story out of it. I myself do not feel the slightest bit inclined towards becoming a monk when reading this, and comments stating that this was a sort of propaganda are silly.

The single worst story I have had the misfoetune of reading over 100 chapters of. This story wouldbe 500 chapters long if I weren't for the horrendous amount of filler. The author seems to feel the need to explain every detail of something happening 3 times. It's never ending. Another problem is that every single character acts like a generic cultivation story villain despite this taking place in modern day China. None of the characters even have personalities past whatever connection they have with the MC. Simply horrible.

Bruh you're just looking at its flaws, the story is very good, and do you think you can write 1512 CHAPTERS EACH CHAPTER CONTAINING MORE THAT A THOUSAND WORDS, at least appreciate the story.

This novel is amazing, it has a lot of jokes throughout the story and is very interesting. Keep in mind though that although it is labeled as fantasy, supernatural and martial arts, the story is more on slice of life. It explains lots of Buddhist terms and China's cultures. So if you are here for the action then this is not suited for you.

The novel is great, funny, entertaining and above all it reflects on some interesting matters. Therefore I give it a 10/10.
It is very immersive and light to read.
Considering the quality of this series it amazes me that it has few people supporting it.
The ending left me a bit dry-mouthed, but it seems like it gave rise to new and interesting stories to tell.
