The Sweetest Medicine
Chapter 77: The Sudden Bath

After she watched Fang Zhihan return to the bedroom, Yu Gangan turned back to Lin Jiayu and smiled, “What exactly are you here for, Miss Lin?”

Lin Jiayu hesitated for a second and explained her motive, “I want to do business with you.”

“Business?” Yu Gangan asked in surprise.

What kind of business could they do? Yu Gangan couldn’t understand Lin Jiayu.

“Tell my Dad that I’ve already accepted my treatment and I’ll pay you for it,” Lin Jiayu explained.

Yu Gangan stared at Lin Jiayu and thought about her words, “So, you’re telling me to tell your Dad that you’ve already received treatment at my clinic and you will pay me for the treatment…but you won’t actually require the treatment?”

Lin Jiayu remained silent, but her meaning was clear.

Yu Gangan was a little speechless, “Did you think I’m the kind of doctor that would disregard my professional ethics for the sake of money?”

Although her voice was calm like she was discussing someone else’s matter, Lin Jiayu could sense her dissatisfaction.

Lin Jiayu shook her head, “I’m not telling you to harm another person or give them the wrong treatment; that shouldn’t be considered as disregarding professional ethics, right?”

Yu Gangan’s expression turned serious as she said solemnly, “I don’t understand why you are doing this, but if you don’t receive treatment, your condition will only become more serious. Eventually, there will be no cure. I’m not just talking about your face, I’m talking about your heart.”

Lin Jiayu’s hands gently clenched together.

“Miss Lin, your face isn’t hard to treat. You will likely recover within a few sessions of acupuncture…”

Lin Jiayu’s voice trembled a little as she asked, “A few times?”

“I’m not certain how many times since I haven’t seen or touched your face, but it shouldn’t take long to straighten your mouth back to its original position. At least, you won’t have to wear a surgical mask for the time being. After that, we can slowly apply acupuncture and hopefully clear you of your illness.”

Lin Jiayu placed her hand on top of her mask as her eyelashes twitched a little, “Can it really be done?”

“If you don’t try, how would you know?” Yu Gangan said with a sigh. “I’m not sure why you’re unwilling to treat it, but you’re not torturing yourself, you’re torturing your parents. If you truly love them and don’t want them to be sad, you shouldn’t be asking me to deceive them, you should accept my treatment and recover.

Lin Jiayu: “…”

Yu Gangan noticed the woman remained silent, but her gaze changed a little, so she added, “A person’s life, whether long or short, is bound to come across some unhappy moments. If it hurts you and makes you sad, then you should forget about it. That’s better for you and the people that love you.”

“Is it that easy to forget?”

“A person’s brain is a database of information. If you keep thinking about something, you will never be able to forget it. So stop thinking about unhappy things; spend more time thinking about the people that love you. After some time, you will realize that life is beautiful and the time you spent stressing over a certain person or thing was a complete waste.”

Lin Jiayu’s gaze began to heat up as she looked at Yu Gangan.

“I really like you,” she said before she turned to leave.

Yu Gangan: “…”

What was that sudden confession?

Just as she was in a daze, Fang Zhihan heard the door close and stepped out, “She’s gone?”

Yu Gangan nodded her head, “I fed her some advice and she left.”

Fang Zhihan had no interest in Lin Jiayu, so he did not ask further. He simply turned to Yu Gangan and said, “Go have a bath.”
