Chapter 66: A Slap In The Face

It was the second day, and the midday break had just begun.

Kazuki did not go to the cafeteria. Instead, he took out his cell phone and made a call. The number he had dial belonged to Sanagawa Shiraishi.

“Hello, the number you have dialed is...”

The call didn’t go through, Kazuki pondered slightly and smiled. It seemed like he was blocked. Yet, he consequently called the other three that were present yesterday just in case.

It was out of the question that he was blocked by all four of them.

To students, 20,000 yen was a considerable amount. If Sanagawa Shiraishi were indeed from a wealthy family, he would not resort to being a delinquent student, extorting, and bullying weaker students.

As various thoughts crossed his mind, he stood up and went to the teachers’ office. After greeting the teachers, he went up to his class teacher and asked for the day off.

“Kazuki, this is the second time you have asked for leave this month. Do let me know if anything is going on.”

“Teacher, I’m just settling some minor issues,” Kazuki assured his class teacher. He was just taking a normal day off, it was not a serious matter. He did not explain, and the class teacher did not pester. Kazuki was a considerably assertive student. He did not need too much care or attention. It would only annoy him.

After bidding goodbye to his class teacher, Kazuki swiftly exited the school compound. He did not go directly to Akihide High School but went home and changed into a set of casual clothes. He then went to Eguchi Ramen to settle his lunch.

There was a new noodles shop opposite, and Eguchi Ramen was having a promotion for the past few days. Regular customers were given a 70% discount, which was cheaper than the food in the cafeteria, which was 50% off.

Eguchi Ramen was owned by Eguchi Keisuke’s family...

The current person in charge was Eguchi Kuno, Eguchi Keisuke’s father, who was previously bashed by Kazuki.

When Kazuki stepped into the shop, he noticed that it was quite packed with people, but it was not full. It would usually be crowded at night.

“Kazuki... long time no see,” Eguchi Mika’s eyes lit up when she saw Kazuki as she greeted him, “Udon as usual?”

“Yes, aunty,” Kazuki answered with a smile. He also nodded at Eguchi Kuno. However, since he was once punched by Kazuki, Eguchi Kuno was not very willing to face him and had only managed to flash an awkward smile.

Kazuki was not bothered.

After his bowl of noodles was served, he turned to ask Eguchi Mika, “Aunty, was there anyone here that had caused some troubles lately?”

The shop was located along Echizen Road, which was slightly more chaotic than other streets. Aside from the location, there was a new shop right opposite them. He was worried that they might have opted for some unhandy methods.

“No. With you here, no one dared to cause a scene in the shop,” Eguchi Mika replied beamingly.

Kazuki nodded.

About ten minutes later, when Kazuki had finished the last of the five bowls of udon, he paid and left. As Kazuki walked away, Eguchi Mika could not help but stare at his silhouette and sighed, “If only Keisuke were a girl.”

Eguchi Kuno, who was just beside her, overheard it, and his lips twitched.

If Keisuke were a girl, he would end up being nobody’s bride with the way he acted.

After leaving Eguchi Ramen, Kazuki checked the time, and he realized that midday break was over.

He came to the station and took a train to Seigyoku District.

A moment later, he was standing in front of the gates of Akihide High School.

With casual attires, he effortlessly entered Akihide High School.

There was a guardhouse at the gates of Akihide High School, but clearly, the security guards were not as diligent as Iwai Taifu from Sakura Kyu.

There was no difference between Akihide High School and other regular high schools. There were no distinguishing features like how Sakura Kyu High School had Kinshin Lake.

The teachers and resources of Sakura Kyu High School were undoubtedly more limited than Akihide High School. Therefore, the school was compelled to promote the school landscape.

Just like girls, if they were not proper, they would have to rely on their looks.

As Kazuki arrived at the school faculty, he heard the bell rang.

Coincidentally, freshmen were on the first floor. He randomly seized a student and questioned, “What class is Mikito Hanzawa in?”

Noticing that Kazuki was not from this school, the male student in his grasp answered truthfully, “I don’t know any Mikito Hanzawa...”

“Do you know Sanagawa Shiraishi?”

At the sound of the name, disgust was written all over the male student’s eyes. He nodded, “Shiraishi is in Class C.”

Upon hearing that, Kazuki followed the male student’s instruction and came to freshman’s Class C.

Being the only one in casual attire, he was very conspicuous and noticeable among a group of students with the uniform.

Kazuki was showered with stares, but he paid little attention to it.

He was here today to start a fight anyway.

As he stepped into the freshman’s Class C, he casually glanced around. He had not just caught a glimpse of Sanagawa Shiraishi but also spotted Mikito Hanzawa, who was fast asleep on the table in the corner of the class.

Meanwhile, Sanagawa Shiraishi was on his seat with his cell phone in his hands. All his attention was asserted to the game that he was devotedly playing. It was apparent that he did not notice Kazuki.

The gaze of the students of Class C followed Kazuki as he walked up to Sanagawa Shiraishi and took away his cell phone.

“Seeking for trouble...”

With his phone being snatched away, Sanagawa Shiraishi looked up and was about to explode when he saw Kazuki. He was instantly dumbfounded, and fear shrouded his eyes.

Slap!

Kazuki slapped Sanagawa Shiraishi across the face. He smiled gleamingly, “What did you say?”

Never slap someone in the face, to do that would mean war.

To delinquents, dignity was regarded highly, not to mention they were still in class, and there were classmates around.

Detecting the surprised looks that were drowning him, Sanagawa Shiraishi turned red. He wanted desperately to fight with Kazuki, but he knew he was no match for him.

Sanagawa Shiraishi held his hands over his burning cheek and mumbled timidly under his breath, “No...Nothing, I did not know it was you.”

“Why couldn’t I reach you by phone?”

“It ran out of battery.”

Pfft...

The reply made the students that were keeping a keen eye on the scene snicker.

Sanagawa Shiraishi’s phone was evidently in Kazuki’s hand, yet he boldly tried to lie. Was he out of his mind?

Nevertheless, some onlookers were peering frightfully at Kazuki.

Sanagawa Shiraishi was obviously too petrified that he spoke too soon without thinking; he was spitting gibberish.

Soon after he finished, Sanagawa Shiraishi immediately regretted his choice of words. He was terrified...

He did not expect Kazuki to be so audacious to come all the way to school to find him. His brain was occupied as he frantically racked for solutions, subsequently resulting in him to lie without giving a second thought at Kazuki’s question.

“Are you kidding me?” Kazuki leered.

He slammed the cell phone that he was holding at Sanagawa Shiraishi and landed yet another blow on Sanagawa Shiraishi’s face.

The blow was detrimental, and it sent his tooth flying. Sanagawa Shiraishi shouted in agony, he lost his balance and collapsed to the floor, bringing his desk down with him, producing a deafening crash. He laid on the floor, curling into a ball as agonizing moans escaped his lips.

Abruptly, the class became silent, as if someone had muted the television. Everyone was taken aback as the murmurs in the background vanished. They looked on fearfully at Kazuki. The students who were standing nearby unconsciously took a few steps back.

They have always thought that Sanagawa Shiraishi was the typical example of a delinquent, but now that they had seen Kazuki in action, their perceptions changed.

This was too brutal.

Mikito Hanzawa that was previously deep in slumber, was shocked and woken up by loud ruckus. He looked up to see Kazuki and... Sanagawa Shiraishi, who was on the ground groaning painfully.

“Stop! Who are you? Why are you abusing people in Akihide High School?”
