I was really excited to start this novel, especially because of its focus on kingdom building. But honestly, I ended up feeling let down. The story had its moments, especially when it came to building and running a kingdom, but everything else just didn't measure up. The biggest problem for me was how the author wrote characters, their conversations and relationships. * There are 18 y. o. girls with an IQ of a 5 y. o. * Flirting with inappropriate jokes like r*pe. . . Another thing that bothered me was how easily the main character convinced people to join their cause. It just didn't seem realistic. Sometimes, the author would spend a lot of time talking about economics, but then rush through important conversations. It felt like the story was missing depth. * All it took was 2 minutes - 3-4 sentences to convince older guy to fully commit to MC's cause and gamble with not only his life but his family's too. Overall, while the kingdom-building parts were interesting, the weak character development and shallow dialogue made it hard for me to keep going. I gave it a shot for 200 chapters, but in the end, I had to drop it because it just wasn't doing it for me.

One of the best kingdom building web novels out there. an entertaining read packed with action, well throughout fight scenes and a decent plot. There are a few plot holes that kinda give MC an unfair advantage, but who doesn't like that in a web novel. There is romance however it is not a key part to the story and is only really shown a few times throughout the story and in the beginning when its being developed. The humour is definitely there, but there is an underlying nationalism in the story that carries on. To conclude, a strong story with a satisfying ending, some might feel a bit unsatisfied as it does leave room for a sequel. but even without it you can kinda guess how the novel would of progressed.

Definitely the best kingdom building that i have read. A piece of gem that is slowly being carved as the chapters goes by. Some holes and there and information overload but i guess thats what makes it a better novel. Thanks for the journey, author.

I really like how The world Online incorporates Historical figures, wish the novel was a bit longer so I could read more of it. The world in the novel is created beautifully and I also love how myths/legends are also incorporated in the story. The fact that it also uses history from outside China is just icing on the cake.

This is definitely one of the best Kingdom building novel you can ever find . Let me tell you it's pros and cons ---> the concept is amazing and although we see a lot of vr games style novel this is really unique 👌. So our Mc was betrayed by his friend over a legendary item and after he dies he regressed 10 years back to the day before they released the game . And in this life he chose the lord mode gaming instead of player mode : it means he has a small territory and as the lord he should expand it protect it. And all of these are in ancient China and is moving forward event by event . Every player in every country has their own history and bc Mc is Chinese his play field starts in ancient China. Romance : good part is that its not a harem and Mc is loyal to his wife but its a little sudden but I like the fl and she appears around ch 60 I think . But it has it's own negative points and the most obvious one : info dump, a lot of them I mean you can sometimes skip a couple of chapters and you won't miss anything ( but some people like these management stuff that mc does ) . Next would be that there are a lot of Chinese names who has different roles in the territory ( I use my phone's note to remember them ) . You should know it's not about an op Mc, he's the lord the Strategist the manager of the territory but he has his moments of being a cool an powerful general in the battlefield too 😎. D*mn it's a long review I hope it can help you 👋.

Impeccable world building. It has a lot of Chinese history involved so you feel like you are learning as you read the novel, but not in a bad way. The character shows development throughout the novel and the kingdom building aspect is absolutely top notch.

If you like kingdom building and historical references, then this is for you. I've only read a third of the light novel and will put it down for now. I love kingdom building and historical references but this light novel main focus is strictly kingdom building. I think that if the MC was and adventurer would did kingdom building as a Lord, that would have been better. There's grand battles and the like and it's pretty awesome but also a lot of inaction which you can guess from the emphasis on kingdom building. I would love for it have more action and also less historical context. For non-Chinese descent, it's a hard swallow as we just would not get most of these references. The author does a great job in giving us a context on why they're so awesome however. So. . . again if you like kingdom building and want to learn about Lore of Chinese history?! Then this is for you!

I've read this a couple times and I still think this is the best kingdom building novel I've read, they're other novels which have some kingdom building and are overall better, but they don't really focus and explore it as much as this novel did. Also really liked the historical aspects, reminds me of Kingdom and the Human Emperor. The ending was fine, but I'd really have liked to know more about the new planet.

This was possibly the first webnovel that wasn't Japanese that I read, and what a good intro it was. The novel's premise begins with your generic 'back in time' protagonist, but mc's knowledge from their 'past-life' doesn't span the whole timeline. The plot itself is quite interesting, being centered around a government-sanctioned game that harbours deeper mysteries/meaning than initially thought. The characters always feel well thought out and with clear reasoning behind their actions. If you're looking for a good kingdom-building story with a splash of Chinese history (somewhat accurate at times, thought-out reinvention at others) this novel should definitely be on your list.

A good novel, good kingdom building, but I think sometimes it gets a bit repetitive because there were SO MANY chapters telling about the heroes of China and stuff that I'm not going to lie, I skipped some of these stories, but overall it's interesting. A good point is that here there is no harem, here it is just a man in love with a woman, it's okay that in itself there are not many moments of the two, but it is really beautiful to see such a work. And just by the way, my favorite arc is the naval exploration one, it was so much fun, but it only happened once, too bad.
