I enjoyed this so much that I binged it. It is a very good love story, probably very unlikely in Chinese history with their acceptance of polygamy, but maybe not as rare in Western royalty. I normally don’t like Chinese Palace romances because there is always so much angst, but I enjoyed this probably because there was a strong woman as MC and everything was under control. Recommended for female readers.

A short and sweet fairytale-like story. Even though it was very relaxed throughout and nothing really tugged at the heartstrings, the life of the main character was portrayed in a manner that felt good to read.

It was very sweet and refreshing to see a male lead who didn’t abuse the fl. There was no rape or sexual abuse and overall it had schemes but they weren’t too much. Recommend for a light refreshing read!

Thoroughly enjoyed this story. It was short but had so much character. The fl was smart and I aspire to have her mentality and while the ml wasn't always great at the beginning, he showed how much he cared. I would've loved to read more about the kids. It did feel a bit rushed, but overall a really good read that didn't make you want to bash your head over some dumb characters

Beautiful and fulfilling story. The female lead was someone who retained her principles but also did not hesitate to mete out punishment on her enemies. She did not have a good beginning with the male lead, but with constant care and attention to their relationship, they became the ideal couple. Thank you for the wonderful translation.

It's true I almost gave up reading it a thousand times but I'm very happy that I pulled through. I still can't believe I cred at the ending.

When I was just starting, I almost gave up at around chapter 5 due to the fact that there's a harem (that's a no for me) but as I read the other reviews, I decided to go on and I made the right choice! The FL isn't lovefool who thinks that her goal is to curry favor from the ML but rather she's realistic and she love herself more than she devote herself to the ML. And although the concubines weren't discarded, ML never sleeps with them again and is only in loved with the FL. It's honestly good and satisfying. I just hope that HY's feelings for QQJ were elaborated more (just for me to feel his unrequited love, yes)

Somehow I feel sad for rui wang fei the second. Until her husband die,her husband never really love her just compromising with her but knowing her husband in love with his own sister in law the empress really devastating for her. I really want to see the 2 famous paintings if it exists.

Read this months ago but all i can say is good novel . I didnt regretted it . The ending is beautiful yet pain . But you will love main cp since their bonds is so strong . Give a try !

It was a really beautiful story. Well written, the drama wasn't too heavy, the main female character never tried to be someone that she wasn't. All in all I'd read this again.
