One of the good beast taming novels. The main attraction is good comedy, charismatic characters and really lovely interactions with pets, they really feel like a big family growing together. Pacing is standard for such novels, slow at the beginning and fast at the latter half. OP MC, no drama, plot is simple and repetitive (sometimes too repetitive with all these competitions and "unscientific faceslapping", but oh well). There is no harem (no romance at all), no random "young-master-guys" who wants to kill or rob MC just because he dared to breathe. MC is shameless, but still reasonable and not dense. For me all of those above are big pros compared to other novels. If you want light read to pass time - it's really good. If you want something nerve-wracking with plot twists, danger everywhere and drama - better choose something else.

Although it is a rather common trope, author does well to keep readers engaged and Shi Yu is among the funnier of Mcs, I also like the power system and classification of monsters. Haven't read the chapters since he left the planet.

A very fun read and great to pass the time, it doesn't have a complicated plot full of twists, it's very simple. The pets are very charismatic, my favorite is the Imposing Emperor.

The novel itself is not bad, it’s a fun slow read. It just isn’t the best compared to other novels. The translation is a little iffy and the pacing is a little slow. It is fun to read to pass time but I dropped it due to the slow pacing and somewhat inconsistent translation.

still on my top list even after reading tons of novels. Really recommending this! I specially like the interaction between the mc and his pets, ITS SO CUTEEE AND ADORABLE! This novel gives a HOMIE feeling like lotm, orv, totcf, and the other novels. Shiyu and his pets never really fail to make me genuinely happy! LOVE THEM ALOT! ps. my previous reviews was deleted bcs of the reset😭

Overall this novel is better than other beast taking novels like astral pet, however the MC are kinda same (there both lazy, but desire power) but what makes this novel good to me is that the pets are shaped more humanely and are fleshed out better and also have character development.

PEAK beast taming novel. Better than astral pet store and fey evolution merchant. I like fey avolution merchant the most but this has way better pacing

The story is very entertaining and good for passing time, rating it 5 as it will not make you bored with the face slapping moments of the mc, it has a good rumor that you will like while reading, and will make you want more to read its story, good quality reactions when the mc always show his strength

Good passing time novel compared to other beast taming novel that I find hard to focus for long period of time. Although the mc is very op and veryy lucky, the plot and interaction between characters is good enough to keep me sticking to it. Overall 4. 5/5 an above average novel in term of plot and charactor.

this novel is unashamedly an OP mc type story, with him having all the good fun bs luck. it isn't really anything to read if you're looking for a intricate and well crafted story, but it honestly is like a if a xianxia protagonist was besties with everyone he meets. ok, brain dead type novel
