Warrior's Promise
Chapter 55: The Situation

At the moment, a valley in Qingyuan Island was in ruins, and broken limbs were scattered everywhere on the ground.

Dozens of Ironteeth Wolves were mummified, and their corpses laid on the ground.

Beside the corpses sat cross-legged a youth with his eyes closed. He was handsome with upright brows and sharp eyes.

It was Su Mo himself.

After a while, Su Mo opened his eyes and breathed out a mouthful of heavy air.

Those wolves' blood essence improved his cultivation, and now Su Mo was almost in the middle stage of the Lv 9 Qi Cultivation Realm.

After devouring all these Beast Souls and Martial Souls, his Devouring Martial Spirit still had not progressed, which was the sole pity.

Su Mo felt very anxious. Based on his ability, he could remain powerful temporarily among all the new disciples, but if his Martial Soul could not be progressed, his cultivating would become slower and slower. Soon, he would be surpassed by others.

Moreover, many old disciples in Gale Island were much more powerful than the new disciples. Thus, if he could not improve his cultivation, how could he compare with them?

His Martial Soul could devour blood essence, but he could not depend on that to enhance his cultivation.

Because he had discovered that devouring blood essence could rapidly improve his cultivation, its side-effect was also quite big.

The genuine Qi inside his body would become mixed after devouring amount of blood essence. The more he devoured, the more mixed it became. If the condition continued, his elixir field would be affected.

Consequently, every time after a massive of devouring essence blood, Su Mo needed some time to solidify his cultivation and condense genuine Qi as a way of protecting his elixir field.

In a second, Su Mo glanced at this messed valley and left.

Su Mo was not in a hurry to take the three strains of Jadeglow Grass, and he took priorities to continuously devour.

The three strains of Jadeglow Grass would help him break through his realm when he achieved the Peak Lv 9 Qi Cultivation Realm, even a half step to the Spiritual Martial Realm.

In the woods, Su Mo, like an unstoppable Death God, killed all demonic beasts he encountered regardless of their classes.

Undoubtedly, the demonic beasts he had killed were all at Lv 1, and he had never met a demonic beast of Lv 2.

After Su Mo killed dozens and the night befell, he coincidently met Li Feng.

Now, Li Feng was in disorder. His face was pale, clothes broken, and blood all over his body. What was worse, his Qi was weaker.

As Li Feng ran into the wood, he was spitting out a mouthful of blood, which apparently showed that he was badly wounded.

"Su Mo, why are you here?" asked Li Feng faintly after he stopped running when seeing Su Mo.

"Li Feng, why are you injured so badly?"

Su Mo stood before Li Feng and asked in confusion without answering his question. Li Feng was very powerful so that few of the new disciples could hurt him. Did he encounter the demonic beasts of Lv 2?

"Su Mo, I...!"

Li Feng was about to reply to him when his face changed, and a mouthful of blood escaped from his lips.

Li Feng fell down onto the ground, unconscious.

"What..."

Su Mo was in shock. Hurriedly, he examined his body and found that Li Feng was severely wounded.

Three of his ribs were broken, and his internal organs were badly wounded. If he was not treated, he would not survive for two days.

Su Mo sighed and thought. "Since I met him, I won't let him die."

Li Feng was arrogant but also kind. Su Mo did not have a history with him.

Su Mo held Li Feng up and took him to a nearby cave.

Su Mo had killed the demonic beast in it, so the cave was very safe.

Placing Li Feng next to the wall, Su Mo helped him take a healing elixir and activated genuine Qi to enter into his body in order to make the elixir more effective and stabilize his wounds.

After the elixir was in effect, Li Feng remained in a coma. Hence, Su Mo had to continuously activate genuine Qi to cure him.

The process lasted for a night.

When the next day came and Su Mo almost ran out his genuine Qi for the third time, Li Feng finally woke up.

"Su Mo, thank you for saving my life," said Li Feng gratefully.

His eyes flashed with a complex feeling.

These days, Li Feng had treated Su Mo as a competitor. Out of expectation, Su Mo saved his life this time.

"We're in the same sect, so don't be so polite!"

Su Mo shook his head and asked, "Li Feng, why are you injured so badly? Who hurt you?"

After an examination, Su Mo had known that Li Feng was injured by a martial artist, not by demonic beasts.

"It's Huang Yunqing who bashed me up," said Li Feng angrily and his eyes were full of rage.

"Who is Huang Yunqing?" asked Su Mo in confusion while he was sitting cross-legged to recover his genuine Qi.

"Huang Yunqing is one of the eight martial artists in the Spiritual Martial Realm. His Martial Soul is of the Rank 7 Human Class, lower than the five geniuses, but he's also entered the Spiritual Martial Realm. In a word, he's greatly powerful," said Li Feng.

"Why did he attack you? Did he want to grab your Demonic Cores?" Su Mo asked again.

"Yeah!"

Li Feng nodded his head and said, "But he didn't snatch my Demonic Cores for himself."

"Not for himself?" Su Mo was confused. If snatching the Demonic Cores was not for himself, who was it for?

"Su Mo, you don't know the situation, do you?"

Li Feng shook his head and continued, "The new disciples have entered into different groups. Except for the mysterious Luo Qianfan, the other four geniuses have roped many people in and ordered them to snatch Demonic Cores for them."

"They've snatched the Demonic Cores from everywhere and no one could stop them. Huang Yunqing has been roped in by Wu Kui."

Su Mo furrowed his brows, never thinking that the four could make such a move.

If so, the four geniuses would obtain Demonic Cores at a formidable speed.

If so, Su Mo was even harder to enter into the top five, let alone the top one.

Su Mo wondered why Huang Yunqing, a martial artist at the Spiritual Martial Realm, was willing to work for Wu Kui.

Only eight of 500 new disciples reached the Spiritual Martial Realm. It had to admit that if things went smoothly, Huang Yunqing would easily enter into the top ten.

What price did Wu Kui pay to draw Huang Yunqing in?

"How is your wound?" Su Mo asked after a while.

Li Feng was in dismay and discouraged. He shook his head and said, "I was injured so badly that I can't recover in a short time. Thus, I'll give up."

Su Mo sighed and knew that Li Feng told the truth. It would take him at least one month to recover fully.

"Under such a circumstance, you can ask the elders to take you back!"

After a moment, Su Mo recovered most of his genuine Qi. Standing up and looking outside the cave, he said with his eyes full of fine light, "Don't worry. I'll avenge you."

Li Feng was stunned, then asked in shock, "Su Mo, you want to look for them, don't you?"

Li Feng felt helpless. The four geniuses were very powerful and respectively drew many disciples in, so Su Mo was asking to die.

"Do you think so?"

Su Mo squinted his eyes and wore a thought-provoking smile on the corner of his lips.

Of course, Su Mo was not for avenging Li Feng for their relationship was not that good.

He wanted to grab Demonic Cores for himself. Robbing would be much quicker than hunting.

As long as he could obtain enough Demonic Cores, he would be the top one in the trial test. 300 contribution points were quite attractive to him.

As for devouring demonic beasts' blood essence, he had enough time to hunt down demonic beasts after the trial test.

Moreover, if someone was not smart enough and stood in his way, Su Mo would also devour his blood essence, which was the same effect as the demonic beasts.

"Alright, I gotta go and you take care!"

Su Mo did not say anything more and turned around, leaving the shocked Li Feng behind.
