Now this was quite unique. What really stands out is MCs personality where he treat others as npc and it was one of main reasons i was reading it. Story is great but his personality of not caring about others just make it so much better. He is what i always wanted in a MC. He just kills who tries to stop him and d*mn i love this.

Completed this novel. Dated:- 16. 09. 2024 Are you into gaming?Do you like strong MC? Do you like EVIL MC? Then you must follow Gu Nan as he f*cks those NPC's, it's an incredible novel with a really decent world building, believe in the author he know's what's he doing, enjoy every movement (don't skip chapters though), this novel has a pretty good ending. If you are thinking whether to read it or not? Then trust this Daoist, I have already cultivated this novel, it's worth it.

Been some time since I last finished this novel, but I think it definitly deserves a review. While I dropped it for some time after 15 chapters, I binged the whole 591 chapters through rather quickly, because it is just that good. Ascending the Heavens as an Evil God is just that. You get what you come here for. The MC Gu Nan is ruthless, vaporizes his enemies into a fog of blood, gets progressively and maybe exponentially stronger, and is overall pretty badass. But it's clear that he has severe autism. For him, his newfound reality is a game and he acts like he is playing one. Doesn't mean that it's bad however. Because of that, the comedy is simply amazing and doesn't feel out of place. Additonally, many characters, while slightly bland, become quite memorable through the way the are written (personality-wise). I'll give it a 5/5 for unbridled violence, great laughs, very interesting concept of worldbuilding and Gu Nans philosophy. While the ending left much to desire, in the end I am just glad, that there are more unhinged MC's/villains out there.

first novel ever to be read by me without taking a break to read other stories. 4. 5 nice story, liked the carefree/speedruner mc and how things were explained at the end. disliked the repeat chapters that became more frequent in the later chapters (even the last chapter was a repeat).

Posting this as of Chapter 471: This is not for everyone. The MC is basically what a game speedrunner would be in real life. Throw away all that caring about game characters. As long as a character is beneficial to MC while alive, he will keep them alive. If they're more beneficial dead, he'll kill them. It's wrong to say he's edgy, because he just doesn't care about side-characters. Although, at first I thought that maybe he will change because of certain people, but no. A bit dissapointed, but I've come to like it this way. This is the only reason for removing a star.

I love this story, but it's definitely not for everyone. This is essentially a popcorn evil fic. The protagonist doesn't challenge philosophical norms, the story doesn't subvert popular culture, and blessedly the protagonist doesn't have eight grade syndrome. Instead, he treats the world like a game, the people like NPCs, and optimizes his progress based off of his extensive experience playing the game whose system he transmigrated with. --- There's a surprising amount of comedy, a boatload of brutality and violence, and a solid amount of strategic action. The protagonist is kind of overpowered, but not egregiously, and focuses on optimal mission completion for advancement, just that these are real people affected by him essentially speedrunning Grand Theft Auto missions with ultraviolence. There are lolis, but not as romantic partners for the MC, and he commits genocide in his spare time so it's not like his morality is anything but evil. --- At any rate, it's a great action adventure story with a bizarrely entertaining villain that solves all his problems like he's bug testing a game. It's no Reverend Insanity, but the MC is by and large laid back and following quests wherever they lead. Feel free to give it a shot, but be warned that it's not for the faint of heart.

It was entertaining but it would have been better If mc stops treating everything as a game. I understand that he is a hard core gamer but he should accept that he is not in a game and people are not npc's. Author should develop his personality so that mc accepts reality and starts interacting with other characters (emotionally).

The whole point of the novel is that he transmigrated into the game he was playing. So yes he is in a game and everyone is an NPC for him to use with no free will. Why would he have emotional relationships with others when the title is of him ascending as an evil god with apathy? It would go against his whole character and make the author receive a ton of hate.

It’s real good. If you’re looking for an evil Mc with no scruples and an exciting journey with good schemes and fights. You probably should try this right here

4. 3/5 MC doesnt care about shit in this novel. Carefree and views everyone as NPCs so he kills without any scruples. Become a god all the way to the top without looking back type

Reading this novel was an astounding experience. The novels way to portay a protagonist that has been transmigrated to a gameworld is extremely unique. Whereas the majority of protagonists that are put into the same situation act like the people of the world are real and give them the same rights as humans from our world, the mc still thinks of them as npcs and does whatever he wants without being restricted by morality. This was in my opinion the best part of the novel. The only con I can think of is that the side characters sometimes feel a bit robotic. Also there are too many lollies for my taste. I feel like the protagonist (and author) are lolicons. Other than that the novel was fantastic.
Since you gave a 5 star I must read this
