Nahh not master hunter K. MHK has that whole thing about going up through levels and the MC was forming a team to defeat that hard boss at the top of the tower iirc. It was a different idea. I’m pretty sure I’m thinking of smth else

Well yeah. I actually finished the novel on different site, but holy shot it is great to read a good translated one. I had to mentally t*rt*r* myself to read through the chapters and d*mn, where is ch 171?

Is the manhwa trash? Honestly, I thought the manhwa was better just because the constant back and forth between the protagonist's point of view and that girl climbing the tower in the novel made me upset. But for anyone starting directly with the manhwa it would be really confusing, as if everything was kind of dropped without much explanation, but as I went through the novel and I have a good idea of what's going on it's been good for me. Do you know if the constant POV switching decreases later on?

Maybe I'll have to give the manhwa another shot if you're saying it's good after reading the book... What really hard turned me off of it was that it entirely failed to communicate the subtext. It didn't even make it more obvious, (in the first 20ish chaps I read when it first came out, at least) it just entirely f*ck*ng ignored it! What I loved the most about the novel was how the conflicts and challenges were primarily mental, and yet what actually got overly stated was the tip of the iceberg. It so perfectly expressed how someone who's going insane can't even tell. The gap between the stream of thought narration and the objective descriptions of the actions he took gave it such a fascinating vibe, one that I've rarely seen outside of psychological horror. So missing that, I'd describe the manhwa as a beautified corpse. looks great on the outside, but the actual life and substance is gone. Did it get any better in regards to that? If so, I'll give it another shot.

Regarding the depth of the story, no, in fact I think it is impossible for any manhwa to have as much depth as a novel, where we can read every mental change of the character. The story of the manhwa mainly focuses on following the character in the past while the novel varies between scenes from the future, past and from the girl's point of view, they have different focuses. So far there have only been a few moments of great trauma for the protagonist, at least that I can remember, and although they are very well done we can only see images, we don't have access to the protagonist's mind, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the manhwa is good in its own field. The manhwa has excellent drawings, great fight scenes and a much smoother story progression, as it doesn't have constant POV changes, although it ends up losing a bit of plot depth because of this, but as long as you've read the novel before and know how to locate yourself in the plot, this is hardly a big flaw.

No harem with a slight possibility of late romance.
