One of my pet peeves with stories where the mc either is/becomes a monster (specifically a non-humanoid one. I'm talking like a duck, a dog, a hellhound, etc. Not an orc, elf, dwarf, etc. ) Is that they always gain a humanoid form. Then they stay in that humanoid form for the most of the story. Like, why make the MC like that, if they're just gonna be a human for 90% of the story. This is probably 50% of the reason I love this story. The MC becomes an ant. . . and stays as an ant. There's no evolution that makes him a human/ant hybrid. No ability that does the same thing. He's started as an ant, and always will be an ant. Due to him already having been insane as well before his reincarnation, he acts like an ant. He's obviously still a lot more human than the rest of his colony (he has concepts of rest, relaxation, and self-preservation) but he still acts as an ant. His first interactions with humans, is them trying to kill him cause he's a monster. That's what I came here for. If you want an mc that gets reincarnated as a monster, and STAYS THAT WAY, then this is for you. Also tangent, if you're gonna make your monster mc a humanoid. Then at least keep their prominent characteristics of their species. Like in Anthony's case, if he did become humanoid. Make him have a carapace, and an ants head, mandible and all. With wings. If they're something like a cat, don't just add cat ears and tail. F*ck*ng add fur all over, a cat head, hell even maybe paws for feet and hands. Make them distinctly not human. To where you can't mistake them for a regular person at first glance.

one on best I have read. no dull moments. plot moving in good phase without out too much side stories. MC readily accepting the fact that he is a monster and not actively trying to turn into a human is something new.

Its a very interesting novel that you will not regret reading , it have excellent writing good comedy and its one of the few good non human mc novel , the only problem i have with the novel is that the author tend to make the mc make a stupid decision to continue the plot but otherwise its perfect 👍🏻 . . . 100% recommended for anyone who want to read non human mc

By far one of the coolest settings of fantasy novels I've ever read, it is insane how much thought was put into it. Such a good read! Even reading it weekly bows my mind!

This novel is the only good novel where mc is a monster/non human and remains in monster form most authors just give them a human form this makes this novel very unique and interesting.

The first couple hundred chapters were 10/10, some of the most enjoyable reading I've done in a long time. From the mc's whitty remarks to the lovable side characters, everything was near perfect. Disappointingly however, there was a very noticeable, gradual drop in quality. Ranging from severe inconsistencies to the exp gain to near forgetting the uses of certain stats, it was frustrating to read to say the least. The mc went from top teir to being a blatant hypocrite towards his family, using naivety as an excuse. All the way up to the latest chapter, the mc has yet to gain some character development in that regard. There were moments where the plot was so forced that it was laughable. Unnecessary side characters were introduced that just became more annoying as time went on. At this moment this novel sits at around a 5-6/10 for me which is disappointing because I truly loved reading it in those first couple hundred. Eventhough there is much to be desired, I would still say to give it a chance. If you can gloss over the many inconsistencies, it is a decent read if nothing else.

Definitely the best Reborn as a (insert weird/bug thing) I've read, very enjoyable and scratches that system itch insanely well. Characters are fun and developing nicely, 10/10

1k chapters in and I love everything about this novel. Story of Antony the ant who is little goof ball of hatchlings survival and triumph. Glory of Colony and so on. There's reincarnated people it's not unique to MC. On Gandalfs beard I swear this is good read. Antony is little autistic presumably. In this violent world he will adapt. I didn't plan for this long of a essay review so my narrative is bad

1000 chapters in and I loved every single one of it. The story is well thought out and always has a funny side to it. The character development really shines in the later chapters and the worldbuilding is amazing. Its the way its packaged which I love as short texts playing in the future, recounting the history which give it an amazing flair. It might get a bit slow in the middle but quickly picks back up. All in all its an amazing novel in my perspective filled with many good lessons and comedic moments (Immortals is all I say)

1263 chapters in. have about 10 lightnovelpub book favorites, this is my number 1 right now. I’ve read a bunch of system/combat books that go really deep into character development and physiological development… ehh it gets a bit much at times. Love how casual and funny the MC is here. Without relying on relationship drama, the authors writing is superb! The details, mini- side character perspective sections, and cohesiveness I find really impressive compared to many of the top 30 books on this site. As far as the story goes, it’s adventurous and exciting and satisfying. Sometimes I’m a bit impatient for an evolution, but it’s worth the wait and extra chapters imo. Great story
