What does all of us being life forms have to do with anything? Last time I checked, on Earth, different life forms battle it out for supremacy and survival. From bacteria to Elephants, they harm other lifeforms to survive. You've grown up on too much Disney movies. In real life, other life forms are either threats or tools. What few people think of with aliens and other species, is reproduction rate. All it takes if for those other lifeforms to reproduce more than us, then in a couple of generation, we are being conquered to make room for their expansion.

I suppose we are all for different things, in fact I stayed because he didn't become human or half human, too many novels with that style, I wanted something different and here I am. In the end I loved the novel, you can also see that people also liked it, after all the author earns quite well
