Cultivation Online novel is a popular light novel covering Video Games, Action, and Adventure genres. Written by the Author MyLittleBrother. 1344 chapters have been translated and translations of other chapters are in progress.

Summary

Yuan was born with an incurable illness that left him blind at a young age and crippled a few years later, rendering everything below his head useless. Deemed hopeless and irredeemable, his parents quickly gave up on him, and the world ignored him.

In this dark and still world, his younger sister became his sole reason for living.

Watch as this young man reaches for the apex as a genius in Cultivation Online, the newest VRMMORPG, becoming a legendary figure in both worlds.

---------------------
Disclaimer: The MC is extremely overpowered and talented but also naive/innocent at first due to his illness. If you cannot wait for character developments and dislike OP MCs, this is not your cup of tea. Furthermore, the 'Earth' in this novel is not the same Earth we are currently living on so do not use our common sense for this novel. This is pure fantasy, after all.

I know I started to read this when it only had 400 chapters, but I have waited so long and want more.

I honestly wasn't expecting to like this a lot. The only reason I even tried it is because I'm still hung up on Dual Cultivation and heard that the author is focusing on this at the moment. My only real qualm about this story is the same problem I have with almost every other "MMORPG" novel out there. The characters take the game way too seriously. And by that I mean entire families and even corporations are treating games as though it is the central and most important industry in the world. It's not even game development, but rather playing games. Can you even imagine some random gamer who managed to reach the top of the leaderboards is suddenly either recruited into a family, or worse, dead just because he managed to take the top spot in a game? E-sports is a thing, but it's no where near as illogical and stupid as these "video game" novels make it out to be.

Sometimes stories can have illogical plot holes. If you enjoy the story, then you will automatically ignore them. Also, sorry for dislike.

Well.. this novel actually turns that around.. so that the game becomes .. much much more important.. Spoiler alert... ( read carefully) . . . . They actually travel with a paetbpf their spuld to the game world ( that is the divine heavens) So.. they will become cultivators in real world as well eventually.. Also earth used tobbe part of the divine heavens and other lore things...

I've read up to the latest, but that still is besides the point. Only a scant few people in that world know that the Nine Heavens are actually real and that Earth was a part of it. The rest still think of it as a game that somehow has some realism to it since the techniques they learned in the game can be used in "real life". So it doesn't take away from how illogical and stupid these families and corporations are for taking "playing games" as though it would make or break the entire economy. Besides, they've been doing it long before Cultivation Online. Iirc, they said the Legacy Rankings have been around for like 100 years already. That's 100 years of idiocy.

Absolute truth. In reality, most people don't care who the champion is in any given game. There could be an exception for such a massively VR, but not as exaggerated as the novels make it out to be.

Not surprising, most video game novels are trash like that.

Interesting premise, but the author insists on dragging his feet, and introducing at least one more harem member every arc. At 1300 chapters in, it hardly feels like anything has happened, which makes sense - word count in chapters is on the low end. It’s an entertaining read. Don’t be too critical of it and you’ll get enjoyment out of it, which is all you can really ask for. Story:5/5 interestingness Characters: 3/5 Mc is still developing his frontal lobe at 1300 chapters in. Would be lower if the author was worse at developing side characters Pace: 1/5 just so unbearably slow, paired with the obscene amount of time the author spends on side characters for very little reason is insulting to the readers’ time. Overall: 3/5 but that seems a bit low, so I’ll add .5 for a 3.5 because it was an enjoyable read. It also seems to be trending upward in more recent chapters, as the author is becoming more confident in letting the Mc experience tragedy. Will finish if/when novel ever does.

I'm getting tired of the novel because of the MCs very weak/dumb personality, I'm 400chapters in which is far more than enough patience to shed some of his stupidity but since you said personality change occurs 500chapters in(which is way too long and unnecessary for a significant character dev which MC hasn't had atall) I'll just be a lil more patient before i dump this

I know. But i feel like its very cheap to justify changing ur character with a plot shenanigan like that because u cant write growth..

Mind your words man... That's called his way of doing justice to this novel... There are many readers who likes his writings and novels, you can't just pass it off as cheap tricks... Remember in mathematics a single f*cking cheap formula can save your entire *ss*... So it's okay if it doesn't fit well with you... As long as it digestible and remains as interesting as the first 1k chaps then it's okay...

-many people like this therefore its objectively good and you cant criticize it.(Do you need me to explain why this is a bad take or can you get it?) -also whats the whole deal about mathematics, its a completely nonsensical comparison. Just dislike my comment in the dark instead of embarassing yourself, also why dont you actually go study some math so you can stop relying on formulas and develop critical thinking?

I understand you brother after all i waited for 500 chapters and that was the conclusion he got. As for mathematics if that was OH SO great formula that could solve the problem in a snap then why drag it for 20 steps when it can be done in 5 or 6 steps after all we waited for 500 chaps and besides mathematics is known for its efficiency right.

First of all, I never said everyone should like it... don't like it don't read it! But what's with those words? Not to mention those 'Cheap Tricks' are one of the reason why this novel is standing here right now. Cultivation online is very popular even on other websites. It has so much potential if not for that unreliable author. Secondly, Idk about you but I'm University student and math is my fourth subject. I guess you now understand why math came to my mind when commenting before. And what's with that line 'embarassing myself' anyway? I'm just saying straight to your face that you shouldn't say something like that instead of disliking you, but you're saying you like being disliked from the dark rather than being commented on? Maybe I was a bit offensive there but what about you? Did you even try understand what I was trying to convey?! You may enjoy criticizing novels and you may continue to do so but you'll understand my point when the novels you like get criticized for no reason.

Well don't tell me you like soft hearted Mc then you can ignore this comment after all there are some times that i wanted to drop this novel due to Mc personality and only waited and for this change and what did i got. I agree the backgound, world dev, plot etc are all good but the core is still the Mc and you gotta handle it well. {Mathematics tends to wash its hands of situations where concepts are ambiguous, paradoxical, or slippery, and getting good at handling those is pretty different from getting good at anything mathematical.} - by *&&^%$. I am a little diappointed that's all but still going to read it since i like it.

I could understand your feelings but not your point since there is none. It's really not doable for me to argue with you since u cant make an argument not based on personal feelings or logical inconsistencies. Ur 15 tops and in the rare case you are not lying you should be embarassed to admit you go to university. I wont get into a bragging competition about majors with you so dont bother. This is my last response because i find incredibly challenging to answer circles arguments. (Btw, in case someone sane is reading this i am cosplaying as a redditor because it's my dirty pleasure)
