Summary

Lin Jie, a transmigrator, is the owner of a bookstore in another world.

He’s kind and warm-hearted, often recommending healing books to customers who are going through a tough time. From time to time, he secretly promotes his own work too.

Over time, these customers begin to respect him greatly, some even frequently bringing local specialties to repay his favor. They often seek his professional opinion when it comes to selecting books, and share their experiences with this ordinary bookstore owner to people around them.

They respectfully and intimately refer to him using names such as the “Demon God’s Lackey”, “Propagator of the Flesh and Blood Gospel”, “ ‘Corpse Devouring Sect’s Rites and Customs’ Author” and “Shepherd of the Stars”.

I’m really thankful to the people who recommended this novel to me, lin is one of my favourite MCs even though it’s a novel that’s based on misunderstandings, that’s just how good it is. I really want a sidestory.

This is the only "misunderstandings" story that doesn't make me want to blow my brains out. Ending was very good. Honestly made me want a continuation

Holy sh*t, someone who apparently hates "misunderstanding plots" as much as I do saying this is bearable? I'm gonna try it, thank you 😅

poison taste test: [Spoilers ahead], [my rating 4.6/5]. I'll start off by saying if you hate misunderstanding tropes don't read this novel you won't enjoy reading this. I'll also lump in oblivious MCs; [spoilers start here] he doesn't learn who/what he is and that also everyone around him is a transcendent until around chapter 430~ish. POV is shared between MC and the secondary cast, maybe spilt around 50/50~. Authur has a habit where he repeats information at the start of some chapters and uses up like 1/3 of it, I find that a bit annoying. The birthday party arc in the mid-late 300s was also where I got burnt out a bit, this was probably the weakest arc. Some side characters also got forgotten as the plot moved along sadly. Despite it sounding like I hate this novel its actually quite good! I'm glad I didn't take a break from it. Honestly up till about chapter 425~ felt like a prologue. Those final 40-50 chapters were so good.

Other than this and Lord Of The Mysteries, please recommend me more misunderstanding of high and mighty being that also interacts with the denizens of the world, suddenly got craving for some awe inspiring being made of bluffs until it is no longer a bluff and is actually an awe inspiring being.

I already read quite far into that, but at some point I got bored, it was around 500 that I stopped, maybe one day I'll continue it.

I’m almost done reading “The Innkeeper.” While I loved the concept and the idea, the execution was poor, and the main character is one of the worst I’ve ever encountered. Is this new book any better, or am I in for another disappointment?.

I liked it when I read it a while ago. The potential for the book isn't as high as MI and the writing is similar although much better(Author for MI is the worst 😑). I dont know how far you are in but I belive much of the book is based on a bunch of misunderstandings.

Haha I’ve read almost all of your complaints in the first 1000 chapters of the innkeeper, and i agree with 80% of it. If you’re recommending this then it must be good, though 400 chapters is too short.

Yea it was more of a fun filler read while I scrambled to find an actual beefy book. I dont know if I even finished it tbh.

“Well, if you didn’t enjoy it at all, then it’s best to just drop it. Although it improved slightly, it wasn’t enough for me. The main character’s stupid decisions, the plot holes every five chapters, and the random, unnecessary side quests ruined it for me. I’m relieved I finally finished .”
