Chapter 117: Congratulatory Banquet and The Consultation Matter

“Then……”

While unnaturally clearing his throat, and taking a wooden jug full of beer in his hand, Niz looked around at the group.

“……Our friends, we celebrate the child of Vas and his wife Nana-san today! As the believers of the god of the treasure and abundance of children, Savaiv-sama, there is no greater occasion! Everyone, let’s magnificently congratulate Vas and Nana-san!”

Meeting with Niz’s speech, the people all present raise shouts of joy.

And, the group’s celebratory gazes concentrated on the focus, Vas and Nana.

“So, once again……To celebrate the future of a new life and the two……”

Niz holds his cup high. And meeting that were others there — Tatsumi and Calsedonia, Niz’s younger brothers Sargo and Shiro, Jardock and Mil-il, known as an acquaintance through Tatsumi, and the focus Vas and Nana, raising their cups with a smile.

All the people nearby lightly hit their cups together, making a nice sound ring.

All of the people then pour the spirits into their throats — with only Nana getting just her lips wet — and begin to congratulate the the focus (of the party) two.

“Congratulations, Vas, Nana-san. But, when I heard that Vas was marrying I got quite the impact but……I wouldn’t have thought that you two would already have a child……But when it comes to me……”

“I want a wife quickly too. Even though I’m the priest of the guard of marriage, Savaiv-sama, there’s not even a shadow of a marriage partner, what’s up with that……”

A seemingly vexed Niz is watched by a faraway seemingly lonely Sargo.

Normally, a high-ranked soldier-priest such as them are proportionately “Superior Real Estate”.

The pay is higher than the normal jobs in the town and the priest’s social status is different from a noble, but still higher than the class of commoners.

Those people have the situation where it’s okay to say that people crowd to become wife candidates, but for some reason there are no showy rumors about the brothers.

“Ah. Then, could I become your wife?”

Whether a joke or not, Jardock creates an unnatural line while Niz and Sargo send a sidelong glance.

In that moment, Niz and Sargo’s complexion in one fell swoop turn pale.

“To be a priest-sama’s wife, your livelihood won’t be difficult. Eh, if you think about it, it’s not a bad choice.”

Within the four arms, the two (glasses) hit each other with a ‘ping’, and Jardock cheerfully laughs.

“Despite looking like this I would devote myself to my husband you know? Of course, I would do the chores too. What do you think? Will you marry me?”

“Em, I’ll decline……”

“I, I don’t think I would be a good match for Jardock-neesan……”

Niz and Sargo both at incredible speeds kneel in their spot, and bow their head low.

At the two the others there laugh together loudly.

Incidentally in the commandments of the Savaiv God, the same-sex marriages that don’t wish for children are not allowed.

On the other hand.

“Aah, within this world somewhere, surely there is a goddess for me. That goddess would be in front of me, and smiling with the affection of a god would say…..’Now, I will trample you underfoot, so prostrate yourself before me completely nude right here.’!”

And, a certain youngest brother said something while making a face of ecstasy, but suddenly nobody was listening.

Right now, they are in the [Elf’s Resting Place].

Originally it was Nana’s workplace — where it was the chance to retire while marrying Vas — and it was also a store that Tatsumi and Vas frequently went.

As for the grounds for the celebration of Nana’s pregnancy, there was no better place.

And on the table Tatsumi and co. were taking, there was plenty of extravagant food.

That food was, even in the food served at the [Elf’s Resting Place], the top-class costing food.

Roasting the exquisite-condition magic beast meat that was especially scarce even among the edible magic beasts, it was an excellent article with the hostess’s special salty-sweet sauce.

The garnished vegetables and fruits were also within the Largophilli Kingdom one of the hardest to obtain goods, where if you weren’t royalty you wouldn’t be able to place it in your mouth.

That’s the dish that the highest-ranked magic beast hunters ordered after an especially hard hunting succeeds to celebrate.

Within the normal customers, there’s some that even say they’ll “First name myself a top-class magic beast hunter, and then be able to order that food.”

That level of food is now enshrined in front of Tatsumi and co.

Of course, the one that offered it was the store owner L.

“That’s my present to you two. Of course, everyone can eat it freely too. Vas-san, Nana-san. Once again, congratulations.”

Along with a smile, L turns her congratulatory words to Vas and Nana.

And, L then pointed that smile toward Tatsumi and Calsedonia.

“The next time I’ll serve this food is……when Tatsumi-san and Calsedonia-san are the focus of the party?”

While sticking her tongue out slightly, L declares such, and Tatsumi and Calsedonia’s cheeks redden.

Even so Calsedonia happily smiles toward Tatsumi next ot her, and Tatsumi grasps Calsedonia’s hand tightly under the table.

Tatsumi’s expression, kindly smiling at Calsedonia, suddenly turns serious and calls out in a small voice toward L standing next to him.

“L-san……I have a little question……Do you have time later?”

Maybe perceiving something in Tatsumi’s expression, L nodded in a serious face.

“Yes, I’ll have time. I’ll prepare a room.”

Answering that much, L then left from that spot. As she is the hostess of this store, she still has a lot of work.

Calsedonia, hearing the give and take from the right-nearby Tatsumi and L, asks her husband next to her while tilting her head.

“……Is it some kind……of consultation?”

“Yeah, well……that kind of thing. Sorry to ask, but could you listen in too?”

“Yes, of course.”

L had prepared a room for it, which means it’s not really something else for others to hear.

At Tatsumi’s request to go together, Calsedonia was upfrontly happy.

Tatsumi’s consultation most likely had something to do with Calsedonia. But, as Tatsumi has requested it, Calsedonia won’t say no.

While getting a bit of unease about what kind of discussion it would be, yet still happy that Tatsumi needed her, Calsedonia nodded happily to his request.

The party to celebrate Vas and Nana, and the new life that would be born between the two became very lively and closed.

At some point, Tatsumi performed a number of songs from Japan on the guitar along with Calsedonia and L’s dancing.

Jardock held a sword in each of his four arms, and performed a traditional sword dance told through shadows.

When Mil-il sang a song from her homeland, trying to meet that the Niz brothers improvised a dance, though as they weren’t good at dancing, everyone laughed.

At some point it wasn’t just Tatsumi and co, and magic beast hunters that happened to be in the store intrude into the party, leading to a noisy and fun time.

And, the party ended.

Dead drunk Mil-il and Jardock went to sleep in a room, and Vas and Nana got close together happily on the way home.

Escorting the two home, Niz and Sargo looked at their backs jealousy, while Shiro was as always fantasizing about something.

There were also magic beast hunters who ordered more spirits, not having enough to drink.

And the employees of the [Elf’s Resting Place] then began the battle called “Cleaning Up” started.

After giving the employees directions once, L took Tatsumi and Calsedonia to the second floor.

She then takes the two to a certain room. It wasn’t the room used the other day when Tina appeared, but rather a normal lodging room.

“Haah. It’s been a while since I drank a lot of alcohol. But, it was fun.”

L’s cheeks are slightly flushed. On the side of the alcohol she treated everyone to, unable to refuse the spirits she recommended to Vas and co, she had drank a lot of alcohol too.

“Yeah, it was fun for me too. That and……I’m happy that Vas and Nana’s child is going to be born.”

L and Tatsumi smile at each other.

But, Tatsumi’s smile then disappears, and begins to turn serious, looking at L.

“L-san……I know that this is rude, but I’m intentionally asking. Did you……When you were in Japan, did you have a child?”

As Tatsumi asks so, L’s eyebrow twitches for just an instant.

But, as it seemed that Tatsumi’s question was a hypothesis about her, her smile instantly returned, and she nodded in approval.

“Yes. Kaori-mother-in-law-san……My husband’s mother asked if there were any biological differences between the humans of Earth and elfs.”

L’s father’s mother was a doctor. Her expertise was internal medicine, so gynaecology is outside of her field, but that thinking probably isn’t wrong, so L thinks.

“Then……For me and Calse……Between a human from earth and a human from this world……Do you think a child could be born?”

At Tatsumi’s question, Calsedonia’s face changes with a start.

To the eye they look the same “Human”, but it’s likely that since the world is different, (this world’s humans) are a completely different species.

Perhaps if there are biological differences, just like a child couldn’t be born between L and her husband, Tatsumi and Calsedonia might not be able to have a child.

“That is……not something I can determine. There’s probably a big difference between my knowledge of medicine and Tatsumi-san’s.”

Even if she was in Japan, L’s knowledge was limited. She wasn’t a researcher or engineer, so her knowledge might be the same as Tatsumi’s, or anyone else’s.

Not only that, even if L has gynaecology-based knowledge and biological knowledge, in order to know whether a child can be born between Tatsumi and Calsedonia, the technical equipment to determine if the DNA is compatible isn’t there.

At L’s reply, Tatsumi’s expression clouds. And more than him, it seems Calsedonia has taken an even bigger shock.

Toward the two tormented by worry, L pointed a warm smile.

“But……I think it’s okay? Normally you two get along that well. I’m sure that Savaiv-sama will give you a blessing.”

L’s words are baseless consolations. But, she had believed.

That between the young couple in front of her a new life would sprout.

“Children are such blessings. Examples of a child being unable to be born between the humankind of this world and Earth’s humankind exist everywhere. To say it backwards, there’s a large chance that a child could be born between the humans of this world and Earth. So never give up. Believe in your love……in your relationship.”

As L says that again, Tatsumi and Calsedonia look at each other, and slowly smile.

“Yes……It’s exactly as L-san says. I’ll believe in Calse……the relationship between me and Calse.”

“Me too……I’ll believe in my husband. And, I’ll believe in Savaiv-sama. My god is the god of the treasured children. I’ll love Danna-sama, and if I believe, he will definitely offer his hand.”

Taking a holy stamp in her hand, Calsedonia muttered a small prayer.

Tatsumi too, touched a holy stamp with the same design as Calsedonia’s while chanting the name of the Savaiv God in his mouth.

At some point, the two’s hands were gripping each other’s hands tightly.

At the two’s prayers, L feels a bit of jealousy in her heart, thinking “Young ones are nice-”

“Then, sooner rather than later, how about staying in this room tonight? And I wouldn’t care if you two also spent a hot night together? Of course, I’ll be charging though?”

When she says that while clicking one eye (winking), Tatsumi and Calsedonia’s cheeks are dyed red.

“Whaaaaat!? N, no, we’re fine!! We’ll pass!! We’ll go back home so!!”

“T, That’s right!! After we go home I’ll spend a hot night with Danna-sama!!……wait……Whaaaat!?”

Calsedonia, aroused and blurting out something unnecessary while talking, presses both of her hands to her cheeks while getting even redder.

L looks at the two’s states in the warm mindset like a mother looking over her children.
