Hey, you are certainly right to be disappointed. But! All these failures are the author's way of preparing readers for future victories. If the victory comes too easily and immediately, then it is stupid and uninteresting. You have read less than a third of the novel, it was literally a prologue. Yes, it will get much better, although not immediately. But if your irritation is so great, then you did the right thing by quitting.

If you are bored of waiting I would say read it otherwise stack until you got a good reading marathon
