Peerless Battle Spirit
Chapter 9: A Coincidental Encounter

Qin Nan did not think about the two brothers after the incident. He never had any mercy for his enemies.

Qin Nan checked the surroundings carefully once again, and was relieved after not discovering any presence of beasts or cultivators nearby. He then entered the Yuan Qi Pond.

Qin Nan sat with his legs crossed in the Yuan Qi Pond, while the Divine Battle Spirit stood in mid-air behind him. The illusionary human-figure emitted a strong force, absorbing the Qi of the pond.

Qin Nan controlled the Qi to mend the injuries of his body that had been produced when he fought against the Demonic Ape previously.

After consuming a third of the Yuan Qi Pond’s Qi, Qin Nan’s figure shuddered slightly while his face reddened. The initially pale look on his face vanished, as he turned energetic once again.

“Phew, I finally got to heal myself.” Qin Nan’s eyes sprung open with satisfaction as he mumbled to himself, “Since there’s quite a significant amount of Qi left in this pond, I shall cultivate here for a while!”

Qin Nan soon shut his eyes and commanded the Divine Battle Spirit to continue absorbing the Qi.

As Qin Nan’s cultivation had reached the third-layer Body Tempering Realm, his flesh, bones, and muscles were significantly refined, while his inner organs and his blood had yet to be tempered.

Currently, Qin Nan was placing his focus on improving his inner organs.

Refining the inner organs was different than refining the flesh, muscles, and bones. If anything went wrong in the process, it would result in a great injury.

Qin Nan had once heard that a rogue cultivator of Linshui City had ended up dying while tempering his inner organs.

Qin Nan slowly guided the streams of Qi to flow into his inner organs, before merging it into one in order to refine the organs.

The process lasted for three hours.

When the Qi inside the Yuan Qi Pond depleted, Qin Nan’s eyes sprung open. A dull explosion could be heard coming from his body.

“Ranking up… to the fourth-layer Body Tempering Realm!” Qin Nan wore a joyful look while nodding his head.

He could clearly feel the difference of his body. For example, previously when he had been executing the low-class Collapsing Fist, he could only exert an external force.

However, he could now exert an internal might after executing the Collapsing Fist, thus allowing the skill to exert the strength of a middle-class Martial Skill.

The fourth-layer Body Tempering Realm—not only would it bring an improvement to the flesh, it allowed the cultivator to control his might with precision.

“I’ve only spent two days at the Longhu Mountain Range, but the benefits I’ve obtained were insane. It’s too early to go back now. I shall practice more in the Longhu Mountain Range!”

Qin Nan pondered for a moment before making up his mind.

Qin Tian would need some time to get the five hundred Body Tempering Pills for him, thus he could only cultivate with his Martial Spirit if he were to go back to his clan now. Hence, it was better for him to train here to improve his battle experience and possibly find some fortunate encounters.

As an example, he had managed to find the Yuan Qi Pond.

In the following time, Qin Nan thoroughly immersed himself in prolonged trainings. He continued to hunt the beasts among the woods like a rogue wolf, and had already slain a few four-grade beasts, or even fifth-grade.

“My Thundercrash Saber Art is getting stronger. I believe it will rank up very soon!”

Qin Nan dashed among the woods while mumbling to himself. From the battles he had been involved in in the past two days, he realized that the speed of him drawing the saber was getting faster, and before he could react, the target was already dead.

This caused Qin Nan to be utterly confused. He clearly knew his capabilities of comprehending Martial Skills, thus it did not make sense for him to master a new skill at such an unbelievable rate. If that was the case, why was his comprehension significantly improved?

Arriving at this thought, Qin Nan’s focus landed onto his Divine Battle Spirit, but he could still not be sure.

“If the Divine Battle Spirit is really able to improve one’s cultivation, in addition to its ability to rank up...This is getting scarier…”

Qin Nan mumbled and in the midst of his pondering, a voice could be heard coming from ahead all of a sudden.

Since he had ranked up to the fourth-layer Body Tempering Realm, which allowed his inner organs to be refined, he discovered his sight and hearing were significantly improved. Basically, he could easily detect any change within twenty meters.

“Let’s take a look.” Qin Nan made up his mind and withdrew his aura, before silently moving forward like a phantom.

Not long after, a group of people could be seen ahead. It consisted of three middle-aged men accompanied by third-layer Body Tempering Realm auras, whose eyes were filled with ferocious looks, a sign that they were incredibly experienced in battles.

Among the three men stood a young woman.

The woman was wearing a white cashmere shawl and a long icy blue dress, thoroughly presenting her attractive figure, giving her an energetic look.

That being said, her face was thoroughly filled with impatience and disdain.

Qin Nan was shocked when he saw the woman, “It’s her?”

Not only did Qin Nan know who she was, he was quite familiar with her too. Her name was Fang Xue, the youngest daughter of the Fang Clan’s Patriarch.

In Linshui City, the Qin Clan and the Fang Clan were considered the Two Great Clans. Both clans had Xiantian Realm experts, with countless of potential disciples. Besides, the Qin Clan had only emerged after Qin Tian took over as the Patriarch over ten years ago, but the Fang Clan had already been a formidable clan that had existed for over a hundred years.

Once, there was a rumor saying that there had been a peerless genius with an eighth-grade Huang ranked Martial Spirit who was born in the Fang Clan, but no one could prove its validity.

Over the last ten years, since the Qin Clan had become one of the Two Great Clans, there would be small-scale conflicts that took place between the two clans. Therefore, Qin Nan had stumbled into this Fang Xue a couple of times, but they had not interacted much with one another.

“What is she doing here?” Qin Nan was slightly confused.

Half a month ago, the Qin Clan had their Martial Spirit Awakening Ceremony, and the Fang Clan had had theirs too. However, as Qin Nan had awakened a first-grade Huang ranked Martial Spirit—causing him to turn from a peerless genius into a piece of trash—he had successfully grabbed the attention of the public, thus no one was aware of any significant news from the Fang Clan.

On the other hand, the Fang Clan remained relatively low-key; there was not much news that was made known to the public.

However, since Fang Xue had awakened her Martial Spirit, she should be cultivating diligently in her clan right now. Why would she bring her personal bodyguard here to the Longhu Mountain Range?

While Qin Nan was being confused, Fang Xue suddenly let out a scream, “Why aren’t we there yet? You idiots, did you actually take a good look at the map? If you brought me to the wrong location, I will not forgive you easily!”

“My lady, we did follow the map correctly, but apart from the ruined cave that we found before, there was nothing else here…It’s possible…possible that this map is fake…” One of the men said with a helpless expression while clenching his teeth.

“WHAT?” Fang Xue’s face turned cold, “How could the map be fake? Keep searching, if you fail to find it, I’ll definitely teach you a lesson!”

The three middle-aged men rubbed the sweat on their foreheads and nodded their heads, before they split up in different directions and began searching.

One of them began walking in Qin Nan’s direction.

Qin Nan continued to conceal his figure without moving, as it was almost impossible for the man to see him with his current cultivation. There was a great difference between the third-layer Body Tempering Realm and the fourth-layer Body Tempering Realm.

Besides, judging from the brief conversation between Fang Xue and his guards, Qin Nan could tell that they were here to look for some sort of treasure.

Qin Nan was curious to know what kind of treasure they were looking for.

At that instant, the man walking toward Qin Nan halted in his tracks while glancing in his direction, before he said with a murderous intent, “Who’s there? Show yourself at once!”

Qin Nan’s expression changed slightly, How did he discover my presence?
