This is a masterpiece It teaches you to know more about human nature and be at peace with yourself not masking your feelings for others approval but for your own interest For the demonic path š«”
This novel is nearly perfect in everything that it needs as cultivation novel and MC is the most charismatic devil you will ever meet and not some bs "evil" edgekid mc thats just evil for sake of being evil, FYs evil always has purpose, if the best way to top was by being saint hed be one. I can rarely find things that would sadden me more than the fact that this and berserk never got finished
Love it, this is my first Webnovel and I do truly enjoy the complexity that is Fang Yuan, I haven't finished his journey and as of writing this I just finished Vol 1. Hopefully its continued to improve
Ok, let's start. First of all amazing, stupendous book. The world building is marvellous and brining with details (a bit tiring to read especially for new readers), as for the power system it is very unique and finely crafted (some inconsistencies hear and there but their nothing important and you can't really expect perfection from a human). The plot is very complex with loads of side characters (you might think that they're not important but most of them will eventually come back in one way or the other), lots of plot twists (you'll never know what's coming next but it's all reasonable with many clueless here and there), there are some very small plot holes but as said before nothing important. The bigger 'plot holes' are never plot holes and are explained later. The characters are a LOT and many WILL come back. They aren't just some random dude but they ale have a backstory and a personality that differentiate them from others. You don't need to keep track of all the names because in most cases there will be someone in the comments to remind you. At the start most side characters except a few will feel a bit monotonous and idiotic (especially in the first volume where there non the less are amazing side characters too) but as the story progresses you'll notice a big big improvement in this aspect (but be braced that not all characters are likeable but even that is intentional and even the most annoying ones will at one point get their moment where you will like them). As for the villain it's not really a fixed character (excluding one 'object', but even it isn't really a 'villain' in the real sense of the world). The most important ans most misunderstood part is this one: the main character. Yes, he's evil, he will kill and do other such actions but not because of some cringe reason like it's funn or something. He does it for his objective (not making him any less evil but he's definitely not the cringe character that some of you might have misunderstood him for). I won't spoil much more of him but do know that you'll enjoy his character. Over it's an enjoyable but difficult journey that I'd recommend not to read straight away if you're a new reader but instead you should get a feel for the 'normal' and 'less complex' plot of other novels (not that they're just worse but easier reads). You can tell that the author has put all his sweet and all his knowledge (especially this, but not the knowledge of committing evil but the knowledge of the life of a moder person) in this.
How could my insignificant self describe this? Maybe you preserve and dazzle, maybe you starlight and twinkle, But we are all in acknowledgement, this was our reverend insanity. This was an insanity worthy of revering.

It was always Reverend insanity š„š„š„š„
Since the Mods delete reviews below 4-5 stars on this novel i'll just repost text only. Iām at Chapter 692. The premise of following a competent villain character is interesting, and the overarching story is 5-star so far. The issue I found is with subplots, fights, and build-up. The storytelling tends to pan out into this sine wave of tension where the highs are extremely entertaining, but the lows are long and boring. This story definitely gets carried by the overarching story peaks that happen at the resolution of books/arcs. The magic system with the Gu and Apertures is very good, but its application is muddy and watered down through the introduction of unexplained killer moves, lazy writing (armies with no attachment or strength with pure stat checks), and sheer quantity (there is an unexplored amount of Gu and abilities, which makes fights unpredictable, cheap, and exhausting at times). Unpredictability isnāt good in hard magic. Maybe youāve heard this rule: āThe ability of the author to satisfyingly resolve conflicts with magic is directly proportional to how well the reader understands said magic. ā Thatās why the repeated, creative use of the potato bomb is fun, while random killer moves or constantly new Gu feel cheap, similar to deus ex machina. The interpersonal storytelling is tense because FY is a villain who exclusively cares about achieving immortality at all costs. Obviously, that has to somehow be imposed on the reader, resulting in every side character just being disposable in essence. You should not get attached to them. Thatās a problem of the format, since the author also has to keep a lot of FY's inner monologue hidden to create a satisfying climax to the schemes heās cooking. This creates a lot of distance to the Characters.

1. This novelās unique pacing, complex magic system, and character depth pull readers deep into the mind of a true villain. Rather than offering a straightforward story with predictable highs and lows, the author creates an experience that keeps readers on their toes, inviting them to grapple with uncertainty, moral gray areas, and the heavy cost of relentless ambition. It may break some traditional storytelling rules, but thatās what makes it stand out. 2. You have also completely understood Fang Yuans characters as well as each side character written in the story. I would advise you to read the story properly instead of writing an argument off of this. 3. Also, if you have ever written a novel before, the biggest rule is that there are no rules that a writer should follow. A good enough author can make bad points into something that is enjoyable in this story 4. Could you provide some proof to back up your claim. It seems like you are bringing general ideas that does not seem factual

(Since your previous comment was deleted let's continue here.) "You've got no counterargument" lol Your criticism sounds like you're projecting expectations that don't align with what Ri is about. The 'endless expositions'? thatās worldbuilding tho, important because the setting and Gu system are complex. If youāre interested in the world itself, those conversations add depth ( This criticism is hilarious and I genuinely think you are rage baiting, but I will continue anyways.) As for the 'muddy' Gu system, I think we've already talked about this. It didn't even make sense for you to criticise this aspect of the novel. And for magic and energy systems, itās not just random *ss additions, itās about growing the power system as the story progresses ( This as well was retarded point, holy sh*t.) Fyās journey is brutal, and morally gray, Itās not for everyone I get that, but calling it 'bad writing' is OBJECTIVELY wrong. Anyways am done replying to your brain rot comments.

Sigh, I am preety sure someone reported your review because you are criticising the novel when you are only 1/4 th of the novel. And besides nobody gives low star in lotm and ri when they complete it, because earlier part of novels are build up parts for later arcs. And the characters that are introduced later are some of the best written characters in entire wn as whole. . Though honestly, I believe you are reading too quickly or are only looking for excitement if you do not enjoy the earlier parts, the world building and foreshadowing of the northern plains is phenomenal, as is the killer moves concept, and I will not argue with you about your preference because no one will lose anything if you drop the novel, but you should give it a shot, and you should get involved and understand Ri rather than just criticizing it. . If you bring criticism in this novel, you will only ruin your own experience reading ri like normal wn is greatest mistake , you will get ans as you move forward.

I finished this novel a while ago, however I forgot to write a review. I can only hope that this novel will one day be continued. The novel is amazing, but what really makes it stand out from the rest is fang yuan. I have read loads of books but he may be the only character who I wouldn't change a thing about. 10/10 character
Explosive - bypassing cliches line Battle through the heavens and perfect world. Abrupt - plot never let you know the climax. Climaxes - you will never find anywhere in written genre. Power system - straight enough for plot development. Nothing random - every plot, random action adds to plot line. Never Bleak - With the lines of Et gen ISSTH, Perfect world and others Legendary - absolutely Shakles breaker - absolutely What Antagonist, what protagonist - Fang Yaun surpasses all. If doesn't revolve around petty human emotions - for this you may read LOTM. Negatives - Everything about this novel is negative, that's the catch. it doesn't care about you. hahaha This novel had spoiled me so bad that I am unable to enjoy any other piece as yet. Hail Gu Ren Zhu āļøš„š¹š
This novel is amazing, it has amazing themes, world-building, side characters, plot, antagonists and obviously one of the best mc out there. . . Fang Yuan. I really can't explain how good this is, it was one of the few novels I've read that left me with an empty stomach wanting more. Whilst it definitely slows down a little around the northern plains are/Zombie arc. Everything before and after those arcs are perfect. 10/10 why did this get banned š
I'm really sad about how this novel ended so abruptly but I am really thankful to his author because this isn't like any other novel where the writing style changes or the character we loved becomes alien to us fang yuan stayed true to his nature from start to finish and I hope this novel gets unbanned
