I just realized something. When Cecilia absorbs the lady pheonix's mana, it says "Then there were fewer still, far fewer, and they were somewhere else entirely. The background coalesced as the memory focused on it: wild, untamed forests full of mana beasts. A hand on her shoulder, the handsome man with the yellow eyes, a sad smile on his face... Images flashed past, moving more and more quickly, difficult to digest: dark tunnels and endless days of labor; strange- looking, tattooed people intermingling among the asura; the slow growth of towering trees, their silvery-gray bark shining like steel in the low light of a hidden underground cavern, their autumn-red and orange leaves fluttering like flames; a child, just a boy, running and laughing, his mismatched eyes-one burning orange, the other icy blue-full of joy and wonder." the strange looking tattooed people could be the djinn, living with the remaining members of the Asclepius clan in the Beast Glades.

After some small calculations. Since turtleme said that there are only 2 volumes left (Excluding volume 10) Considering past volumes had about 20-22 chapters. Taking 21 as the average. If volume 10 ends at chapter 425 we will probably see the end of the story between chapters 465-480 which is nearing the end of this year 🙏🙏😭😭

What? What are the 20 chapters in the volume? Volumes 8 and 9 had more than 50 chapters. Also, given that the story isn't even close to a resolution right now, the next volumes may be the biggest yet.

I agree with Scroll0002's sentiment. For example, the latter half of the Harry Potter novels are extremely long in comparison to the first half.

Guys Is it a sad story? I mean is it tragic where main characters die left and right?

Yeah there’s a few close characters that do die and the way the author describes the pain one’s going through will make you emotional. It’s got its funny moments too tho so yeah. My favorite funny moment was when nico gets back hand slapped by Arthur. 1 hit k.o.

Its not a sad story per se. But the story isn't sunshine and rainbows either. Yes certain characters do die but that doesn't include many central characters. In the first part it starts off like a typical Isekai with very detailed character and world building which becomes the soul of the story. Once that part is over sh!t gets real. mid way thru, the main character gets certain unique power that makes him a bit over powered although not all powerful. This doesn't make his life easier but only attracts the attention of titans of the story towards him, further complicating the story. But if you are just starting off I must warn you that the author is simply brilliant and this is an extremely addictive story, which makes it all the more painful because he updates it only once a week although each update contains content equal to 3-4 updates of other novels. so If I were you i'd either take a slow pace of reading or wait till he is almost completes it before binge reading.

I don’t understand this review bombing. It’s a 400+ chapter novel with incoherent and lacking world building and plot holes. The amount of reviews and sort of childish praises already unmask the profanity and mainstreaminess of it. It’s good and definitely unique but the lacking descriptions and incoherentces make it unbearable. So it’s not a bad novel but it is in no way in the top 10. I mean it isn’t on any side but the overhyping comments make it seem like it should be number one and every other novel is inferior. What makes this novel better than a supreme magus or shadow slave or lotm? RI? Kidnapped Dragon? Even an Infinite Mana in the Apoc. has more world building and adjectives and attributes to describe surrounding terrain in the scenes holy

How's it incoherent? There are a decent number of moving parts, but I haven't really had any issue following what's going on. Compared to some of the Epic Fantasy series I've read (ASOIAF and especially my favourite series: Malazan Book of the Fallen), this series is rather straightforward. Things are set up and then paid off. The world building is fed at a natural pace to start small while hinting at the bigger picture from very early on, and then builds from there. There are definitely some conveniences to the plot (what novel of this length and genre doesn't) like with how Arthur was lucky enough to exit into some backwater village when he first came out of the Relic Tombs, but no real plot holes that I've noticed so far. I can't comment on the other series you mentioned as I haven't read them. I picked this up after starting the Webtoon first. Compared to Webtoons of a similar genre, I vastly preferred this because it actually invests in the development of its characters.

Tell me one plot hole. Every freaking sub plot is focused and linked to the main plot, characters of all perspectives and different parts of the world have their own lives and interact to solve their own problems. The world building is huge. Stop messing with people here. Most of the major characters have developed as if they were real people. Look at Bairon, remember the fiery, prideful and petty guy? It manages to display how traumatic a war would be and how disturbingly nonchalant this world is towards their misery. They are just bystanders caught up in the squabbles of gods. Above all, I have never seen a protagonist that's not edgy and arrogant on this site. This story really makes him go through insane development which is so subtle, most of us miss it. Losing a lot of loved ones and being haunted by your past mistakes, thats what the protagonist displays. You haven't even said what's the problem. You might want to shut up next time when you don't know what you are talking about.

And development is only for the main characters? Did you even read the whole novel? I have seen people angry about how MANY characters are focused and developed in this novel instead of just having the protagonist slay everyone.

Other than that i planned to read eminence in the shadow, jobless reincarnation, reincarnated as a slime, lotm, omniscient reader (if sh*t goes like that), trash of the counts family, and i had more but can't remember it out of these I'll just stick to manwha/manga/anime

Any recommendations similar to this masterpiece, other than shadow slave?

    Reply
    • Lord_Elrond 1

Supreme Magus - Isekai, magic, drama, romance(bit too much drama and romance for my taste) with good magic system, world and character building for all the important characters and nicely inter-connected sub plot lines. Legendary Mechanic - Isekai, Mecha, Game World (Not a fan of mecha and didnt like the mc so I dropped it but it has good fan base) Lord of the Mysteries - Not sure but I think its a Victorian Era fantasy Isekai with magic that has big fan base. Also its completed. The Author's POV - Isekai, magic, martial art where the author reincarnates into his own story, or so he thinks (part of plot twist ;-) ) But to be frank I didnt like any of these as much as tbate or shadow slave. But may be you will.

That's so true. It's hard to start a new novel because of these two great novels. If I may suggest a novel that I really like you should try reading Trash of the Count's Family

My personal favorite is runesmith It similar to this in the worldbuilding but goes off and really develops in its own way

The Legendary Mechanic is a great, system novel, such is Supremacy games however it can be depending on the person a slow burn at times. The new "Harem" novel that just shot up into 6th place is also meant to be amazing for not just the plot, but worldbuilding and general novel idea. Everyone else is a returnee was also very good due to the mc's nature and character progression (turns into more of a functioning human). Revered insanity for, well idek at this point. Just a great novel however can also be fairly slow. Library of heavens path / super gene / dual cultivation. Those are some lesser recommendations as in my eyes were a pretty big time waste. However each to their own!

I have a question if Arthur can control mana trough aether . Then can he create vaccum with air mana and use spell ?

    Reply
    • Lord_Elrond 1

Arthur doesn't control mana in the sense you mentioned. He controls aether, which is like a vessel that can govern and channel mana. They are like the complements yin and yang (mana and aether I mean). When a person insists the will upon mana, it is the aether that transforms that will into action. Since he can sense and control this very medium or vessel he can basically sense any and all mana movements and / or defend against them using aether regardless of whether the mana is of elemental nature or pure or corrosive. Its like if there is a cup of water, he cannot control the water, but he can control all the aspects of the cup, which holds the water.

If Agrona got to the third ruin before Arthur, probably the one who accompanied him is Sylvia, and Arthur might get an insight about the third ruin through Sylvia's core later. Just my wild theory tho

He probably got excited and just typed something but on another note its possible that it was a third party that entered and obtained it. Cuz Ceara even says no ascender had ever encountered the djinn and it'd been years since a relic was obtained(other than the broken ones)
