Chapter 12 – Part 2

I accepted the cell phone because he was standing as if he wouldn’t move if I didn’t take his phone. Then he took the apron off my face, returned to his seat, and looked at me as if asking me to do it quickly.

Next to him was Baek In-Hyuk, who was smiling. His lips stretched out into a wide smile and enjoyed the scene in front of him as if it was funny.

I’m going crazy!

First of all, I opened the internet application and typed two letters ‘Seon-jae’ in the search box for the cafe. While checking the search results, I scrolled down the screen and found a cafe called ‘People who love Seon-jae’.

I thought that there couldn’t be any posts inside the cafe. There were only three members, perhaps they opened the cafe but didn’t operate it.

I was hesitating to open it, but Seon-jae reached out his hand and grabbed the phone.

“Uh, no… that’s…”

Seon-jae’s expression stiffened. Baek In-Hyuk, who was looking at the cell phone screen, burst out laughing as if he couldn’t take it anymore.

“She’s really hitting the bulls-eye.” Baek In-hyuk, who took the cell phone from Seon-jae’s hand, laughed openly at the screen.

It was natural to laugh because there was a photo of Seon-jae with a beautiful view at the front door of the cafe.

Seon-jae shot an absurd look at me. No matter where I was in the past, it was a little heartbreaking to see him, the person I like, looked at me with a look of contempt.

“There can’t be a fan cafe without a fan.”

I couldn’t say anything and Baek In-hyuk kept on laughing.

“I found this in my desk drawer today.”

Seon-jae opened his bag zipper, opened it wide, and showed the paper which was inside. It was a warning letter that I had secretly put in his drawer. I thought he must have read the letter and put it back in the drawer, but I guessed it wasn’t the case here.

Seon-jae took the letter from his bag and read it.

“This letter is from the future, and you have to believe what’s in it and put it into action. If you don’t believe what’s in this letter, there will be a great misfortune, so I wish you the luck of believing this letter. If you have a friend who looks like a cat over 180cm tall by your side now, stay away from him. And please avoid anything with Potato Pancakes in the future. If you experience sleepless nights, watch a documentary about the mysteries of the universe. You can fall asleep without having sleeping pills.”

Seon-jae, who read the letter in front of my face, looked coldly at me.

“I searched all the other students’ desks just in case, and this was only on my desk.”

I had nothing to say. Of course it wasn’t on the other desks. I only put it on your desk.

“Why are you doing this to me?” I grabbed the strap of the bag next to me. My heart was pounding so much and my face was so hot, and it was hard to keep sitting.

“Are you from the future? Is it fun to play this kind of prank on me?”

“…” The tip of my nose started to tingle. I felt sad for some reason and frowned. “I’m sorry…”

Seon-jae stared at me. “… but I’m not kidding. It’s not funny at all. I want you to, you….”

“I don’t know…” My throat was getting sore as I tried to control my crying, growing within. “I won’t do that again. Sorry…”

I pushed my chair back and quickly opened the restaurant door and left. I didn’t do anything bad, but I was so sad that I felt like crying.

It was funny to say that I could save Seon-jae as I came back in the past. I didn’t even know how and why I was here.

“Hey!”

At the same time I heard his voice, my body turned around by the force that grabbed my wrist from behind. It was Seon-jae who was standing when I turned around.

My eyes grew hot as tears started to flow endlessly.

When I suddenly burst into tears, Seon-jae’s expression softened as if he was embarrassed. “Hey, why are you crying?”

Uh-huh-huh-huh [sobbing noise]

When I pulled my arm, crying, Seon-jae loosened his grip and let go of my hand.

“We’re really not going to run into each other anymore. I won’t even go to your school. But I didn’t lie. For real.”

I turned around crying and started to walk. When I turned around, Seon-jae was standing still with a vague face.

“Seon-jae, don’t hate the letter even if you hate me.” After saying this, I walked again.

As I rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand, I cried out loud and walked away from Seon-jae. He didn’t follow me as I cried and walked away from him.

I continued walking and sat on a bench in a park, where no one was there. I leaned over and cried with my face buried in my knees, and that’s when my cell phone vibrated. As I tried to get my hands into my pocket to take out the cell phone, I held the pocket watch instead.

I sat straight, pulled out the watch from my pocket and pushed the lid open, saying, “It’s your fault.”

I felt frustrated for no reason and blamed the watch, but at that moment, the clock hands moved fast and a light gushed out from the watch.

“Uh, uh, this…”

I closed my eyes tightly. I could feel the dazzling light disappearing. I heard a loud song somewhere, my pounding heart finally calmed down. With my hands clenched, I slowly lifted my eyelids.

It was dark everywhere, so I couldn’t see anything. As I blinked a few times, my eyes got adjusted to the darkness and I could see a familiar scene in front of me.

Oh My Gosh?!

There was a poster of Seon-jae on the wall, with his hair dyed yellow and wore a beige knitwear.
