Hidden gem brilliant beginning only to turn into the author doing the bare minimum to continue the story. The main character never uses his powers properly and his character development is assassinated after chapter 300. The author also doesn't know how to write action. All in all, I do not recommend reading this

If you're looking for an honest, objective, hate-free review, this is your ideal review. First, don't pay attention to the novel's tags; this is "drama" with a hint of "tragedy" (just a hint, not a full-blown tragedy), and the "romcom" is only present at the beginning. The novel is very good in several aspects. I especially highlight the side stories. At first they seemed insignificant, but honestly, I ended up becoming more fond of the secondary characters and their endings than the protagonist's. The drama is another strong point; the author handles this category masterfully. I felt the desperation and pain of the characters, I pitied them and laughed with them. I'm not someone who is easily moved, but this is well written. I also want to highlight the political scheme and world building, although it doesn't have much to do with the protagonist. Now, the negative points: 1. **Protagonist**: You're not going to like the protagonist. It's not bad, but it disappoints more than once. It's infuriating at times, though it has its moments. 2. **Excessive Drama**: If you don't like drama, this can get heavy. If you can't empathize with the characters, you better not read this. 3. **Repetition**: The narrator, in first person, talks too much about his thoughts, which is annoying. It feels like a personal diary. Skipping texts didn't affect my understanding, but honestly, it's not the idea to skip something in a novel. 4. **Romance**: It's not a good romance. Don't expect a cute romcom. It's disappointing in this area. (note: it's not that it doesn't make sense, it's just that it's not good in the romance category, especially for those people who like pure hormonal and h*rny teenagers) 5. **Humor**: The comedy is poor. The sense of humor is pathetic, similar to a trashy romcom where the protagonist hits the protagonist. It seems like the humor of those Japanese virgin Otakus and NTR fans who say they wouldn't mind if their girlfriend or partner didn't respect them, no offense, I think. 6. **Action**: The action scenes are bad. If you're looking for good fights, don't read this. Additional notes: 1. **Human characters**: The story is a 10/10 in terms of human characters. I sympathized a lot with several characters, although sometimes some things are repeated. At one point I hated everyone except the protagonist, but that's already a spoiler. 2. **Plot errors**: There are some errors, but not as serious as the haters say. Remember that this is a novel website, not a professional work. 3. **Impatience**: If you're impatient, don't read this. I, stubborn as I am, finished the story, but I understand that it's not for everyone. 4. **Second part**: The real quality of the novel is in the second half. The first part is an empty romcom without substance (at least for me). The second half is a torrent of emotions, with complex characters that you love and hate, drama, and development. In short, I liked the novel because I saw humans, not just characters. This story is true gold in a world full of empty stories with perfect protagonists or stories that seem more like a fanfic made to fulfill the author's stale fetishes. If you enjoy good stories and can stand redundancy, you should read this novel. In the end, despite its flaws, it manages to make you feel and connect with the characters. Without anything else to say, I say goodbye to everyone, I'm leaving with another story that although it wasn't the best, I will cherish in my heart for being able to make me feel something, for making me enjoy or frustrate. Until next time. Final note: I gave it three stars because I am very demanding, don't think it's because it's more or less, the truth is, I can count on my fingers the stories that I give more than three stars, much less one that I give five.

I really enjoyed reading it, I give it four stars because there are several moments where I don't agree. I also expected a slightly better ending. But it's still a great read which I recommend you read if you are in doubt.

"These flames are your punishment" and "With great power comes great responsibility" is basically the theme of this novel and it goes for multiple characters, not just the mc. I remember coming to this from the manhwa while feeling frustrated with how every time something serious is about to happen, the whole situation got concluded in a very light-hearted way and wow, I low-key wish it was like that in the novel too because after a certain point, the author just never stop adding more fuel to the fire up until the final chapter. Finishing this really made me feel empty.

The story is good, although more than a half of it is a tragic arc. Even in the early chapters I always thought of how tragic the outcome would be every time there is a happy scene. The interactions between the MC and the love interesets are always gold! The parts that hate the most of this novel is the continuous repetitive phrases throughout the story. The ending including the epilogue, although not perfect, is satisfactory. Overall, my rating is 7/10

The story is good, a solid 7/10. This could however be bumped up to a 9/10. The characterisation is great and i find interest is each fl and quite a few side characters. I root for many of them due to their great introductions such as charlotte and harriet who captivated me with their interactions with the mc. Overall, the basic concept of their characters are great and i like it but heres where the problems start. I feel like after the author had gotten through the main arcs of the characters they end up being sidelined playing meagre roles within the story. Its obvious that the author had planned a start and an end but the in-betweens are with no other way to say this but poorly written. Annoying plot points and inconsistencies with the mcs power (partly due to the authors choice) create unsatisfying scenarios that force readers to dislike the once loved characters. I believe this was the downfall of this otherwise great story and is why I won’t rate it that high in my opinion

First 100 chapters, 10/10. Chapters 100-430, 9/10. Chapters 430-End, 2/10. The first half of the story is amazing. It’s a slice of life romance. The side characters are all unique and fun. I can say that, if the book kept to slice of life romance with minor dark themes, this book could have been 10/10. The interactions with the MC and the FLs are a joy to behold (particularly with the “main” FL). This book made me feel butterflies and smile. I loved the MC interacting with the “main” FL. Their romance is slow but steady. Deeply satisfying and lovable. They have their ups and downs, but they always get closer. Unfortunately, after chapter 430ish, the book takes a dark turn. You have 300 chapters of desolation, depression, and drama for the sake of drama. The author seemed to have a motive for making his readers depressed and unsatisfied. I can’t say a book has emotionally impacted me more than this one has. It made me cry in sadness more than I have ever cried before. The drama in this story revolves around a series of misunderstandings that snowballs into a great calamity. There is only 30 chapters after the end of the calamity, and it feels hollow. It felt like I wasted my time. The first 400 chapters made me incredibly attached to the book, but the last 300 made me depressed. I ate once a day, could only get 4-5hrs of sleep, felt sick to my stomach, and couldn’t help but cry when thinking of the situation after chapter 430… I am genuinely, incredibly disappointed the book turned out the way it did. After chapter 430, there was no sense of victory. Anything positive is overturned with something even more negative. The situation only got worse. No matter how hard the MC tried, no matter how much he progressed, it’s never enough. He only loses more and more. The people he cares about get more distant. The characters are confined to a sense of duty to a world that had forsaken them. The MC and “main” FL become near-irreconcilable, and it’s so depressing. I read and loved the book BECAUSE of the interactions between the MC and the “main” FL. I loved their awkward, slow romance, her shy affections, the time they spent together. After finishing the book, it feels like I wasted my time on nothing. You don’t feel a sense of victory but defeat. There is no satisfying ending. The MC doesn’t even really solve the problems on his own. Along the way, the MC who was admired for his Will and his determination even in the face of impossibility, becomes cowardly and a defeatist. The MC doesn’t “fix” what happened. He puts a bandaid over it and drowns in self-pity and duty for people he shouldn’t. He genuinely thinks it’s only natural that someone like him doesn’t get a happy ending. He thinks it’s only natural that, after trying so hard, after working to the bone and experiencing the pain of death thousands of times, the person he worked so hard to save leaves him (“main” FL). This is the saddest book I’ve read. This is the greatest failure I’ve ever read. I’ve never read a book so close to greatness yet throwing it all away in the latter half of its pages… I can only implore you not to read. Don’t suffer as I had. This book WILL get you attached. You WILL love reading this book, at first. But then it WILL also make you sad. This book WILL make you disappointed. This book WILL waste your time. I hardly ever post reviews. I felt obligated to do so in this case, however. I hate this book. I hate it because I loved it deeply. I really, really wish the author stuck to the slice of life. I really, really wish the author didn’t write a tragedy with no meaning or basis to exist. I think I will be messed up about this book for a while.

I've read reviews of this novel, both good and bad. Do I recommend it? At most, there is a part in the middle of the novel that may not be to everyone's liking. Oddly enough, I did like it, but the point after that I feel has declined. The quality of the writing and the plot made me lose the thread. My personal opinion is that the story in that part could have been better developed. To be honest with all of you readers, I would have preferred him to stay at the academy with friends who know his identity. . . and to let him run or live at the end of the story. . . well, that would be the conclusion. Maybe they would have just escaped? Well, what can I say, I loved the novel. If you manage to finish it, unlike me, I hope your trip is a great one.
