Translator’s Notes: With regards to the ‘Uncle* and Auntie*’ (伯父伯母), it may be a little confusing, but it is just a formal address that is different as opposed to the ‘Uncle and auntie’ (叔叔阿姨).

From what I understand, 伯父伯母 is used to address one’s lover’s parents while 叔叔阿姨 can be used to any man/woman who is of similar age to one’s parents. Thus, 伯父伯母 is more formal in this context.
