Dropped on 698. Mc character development is a weird one. A naive beginning, yet still naive after multiple death battle loved one being almost killed, kidnapped and r*p*d. Even on later chapter he let bunch of r*p*st (which tried to get his group) go because a higher level cultivator asked him to give him face. Mc keep getting trouble because he's so full of himself, after getting his (almost) lover dead because he want to watch powerful people battle he goes to place which his beast and friends said there's something wrong here and mc be like "it's nothing, let's go there". This is a novel with one of the mightiest plot armor I've seen, that's the only way mc able to survive this far
I’m surprised it’s rated so low. It has a decent plot and has a creative twist. It was a decent read made to waste some time and it achieved that purpose for me.
read the "FracturedSpirit" reader review as I agree with your perspective and consider your description better than mine for me it was a good experience and this is definitely a good light novel to pass the time, the author exaggerates a little in the explanations but you get used to it
Bai Yunfei was a peasant boy who luckily got his "cheat". The cheat was part of the spiritual consciousness of an online gamer - a thread imparted itself into Yunfei's memories. The ability to expend spiritual power to have a percentage chance to upgrade an item - making it tougher, or an ability, ect. Now I really enjoyed this novel. It is one of the better ones I've read, I rank it up there with Wu Dong Qian Kung, Heavenly Jewel Change, Sovereign of 3 Realms, Martial World, ect. The arrogant young masters aren't too bad in this one, nor is "I'll slaughter your entire family and sect". The MC wants to be a refiner and joins a sect for it. Goes on adventures. Like Lin Dong in WDQK, the MC becomes bonded to spirit beasts which isn't all that common in the genre done right. There are dark sect practicioners and weird powers and weapons - like soul killing needles, wars between sects (righteous v evil). Great fight scenes and our MC gets to shine. Some slice of life, some humor, and no harem. The MC has a girl who he marries in a believable romance. When you hate mindless and arrogant MCs like PMG and ATG but like the genre, read this. It has EVERYTHING and was a great read. It makes me nostalgic for trying to find something like this, or A Will Eternal, WDQK, Coiling Dragon, King of Gods, ISSTH, or the great works again. It's been forever since I've found something its equal.
Really tried to like it. I really did. I'm always looking for crafting stories, but this one just isn't worth wasting your time on. The crafting system is all over the place, but that would be fine if the rest of the story worked. The plot isn't even that bad, but the MC is just too much of a tard. The author wanted to write a cunning and intelligent protagonist, but apparently is a total dunderhead himself, so the MC just ends up looking like a total idiot. I quit after 230 chapters. What a shame.
It's just awfull, the MC is just too inconsistant. The idea is interesting, but the plot is just awfull. Not worth to read it. Read till chapter 72 and had to stop because it makes no sense. They are chasing him, and wants to flee, but because the plot needs it he forgets about it and decide to stay in the same place till the enemies get him... Who would have gess... just not worth.
Author wrote an intelligent protagonist story without being intelligent themselves. Constantly over-explains every single simple situation. And even when he tries to explain anything remotely logical, his logic is horrifically flawed, even in situations where the actions taken make sense. It's honestly baffling.
