I've held out hope for a bit now wishing that some reveal finally makes this whole mess come together but still nothing. We still don't know what gave earth the superhero virus or what riley actually is, or how the time travel stuff works, or who affected the celestials, or really any of the larger mysteries. Also, the multiverse plots were all over the place with people not enjoying them as much. Especially in comparison to the earlier more character driven moments. Made worse by the fact Riley is pretty much a bystander in what is supposed to be his story. Nowadays he's relitigated to almost a gag character who just stands to the side saying wild statement(admittedly still funny) instead of actively driving the story. Maybe it can be argued that he's just too strong but he was just too strong back then and it still worked. I've really had some great moments with this but just like supremacy game, I'll hold out it till the story gets completed and see if it's worth my time to finish.

I can't belive that such amazing novel got ruined so badly I was calling it the best novel I've ever read at the start now I just think of amazing plots wondering where I read them then finding out that yeah it's from that novel that went to sh*t The author just has some kinda tendency to bring misery to every character just when things are starting to go good for them All I can say is that there's definitely something wrong with the author's mental health
