Reverend Insanity

Fang Yuan is one of the only characters I have read about who wasn't in some way a hypocrite. He is the same character from chapter 1 all the way to 2334. He is the purest MC ever written.

Some heroes are born with talent, wealth, luck, background, or even several (if not all) of them. He... was born with nothing. He didn't have talent, so he could only watch as his peers left him in the dust. He didn't have wealth, so he could only rack his brains to get the most value out of every single of his Spiritual Stones. He didn't have luck, so he could only hear with envy how others got the things that could've been his. He didn't have background, so others could trample on him without any repercussions. So, what else can you do to change your fate? To swim against the currents? This is the hardship of Fang Yuan. The story of someone refusing to remain as a simple background character. The one with nothing but perseverance in his heart, chasing after his dream; even if it seems like the path to insanity itself.

Amazing novel, why? Let me tell you why! 1. Incredibly smart MC, neutral evil, he has a goal and stops at nothing to achieve it. Hiwever normally with novels of this type the MC suddenly changes sometimes, and breaking character, well WORRY NOT because this does not happen. 2. Insane deep plots, reappearing hundreds of chapters later, making everything that didn't make sense, make sense! Incredibly few faults in the novel could probably count them on 1 hand. 3. The climaxes are just so insane, they make me want to read at full speed, and make me feel anxious and excited. 4. The enemies are not mindlessly obstructing MC, they have their own reasons and life, every character has so many details put into, their own story, their own life. Nobody makes unreasonable decisions just for the sake of the story. 5. Everyone with high achievements is impressive, everyone plots against each other, dog eat dog kind of world. And those who got far but aren't impressive has a reason for that.

I come to remind you to leave your review of this novel, the author couldn't give it an "epilogue" but still it's too good a novel and deserves more reviews ... Just a reminder for all the fans of this novel.

Since the novel couldn't give you closure, and its unsure if we will ever see the end of Fang Yuan journey. Here is my poem that might slightly be able to convey fy achieving eternal life:- Road to success is perilous, Filled with hot rocke's and pine. Relations are temporary worth nothing more than a dime, forging this emotionless face of mine. On the road to eternity it doesn't matter if you were a priest, or lived a life full of crime. Experience is precious it gives you clearance of mind. Benefits are temporary, nothing more than these shoes of mine. Preserverance is indispensable, giving my legs the power to walk on this road, not recorded in the river of time. Obstructed by the heavens and powerful being, as ancient as time. But none, could keep me from this goal of mine. Eternal life... It is finally mine.

And why recommend you to read it? BECAUSE EVERYONE IN BOOK HAS BRAINS! Unlike other novels who the author would intentionally add dumb-*ss villains just to highlight the MC's intelligence. But RI does not need that, the villains are smart but make the MC much schem—smarter. One of the sweet point of RI. Each venerable is also proving us that they deserve the title, Fang Yuan is giving all his might in scheming and strengthening himself is a prove how this 3 venerable is a strong opponent for him, pity we didn't witness the end of SS and FY's fight

Daym, this is so beautiful. Kudos to the author for the wonderful masterpiece! I don't know why people drop it. First of all, I would like to say how every characters in the novel is fleshed out. You can't find any 2d villain in the book, there's also no one you can claim as the hero since almost everyone has the hidden agenda and will do everything to reach their goal, take a look at SC, for example, though SC is a b*tch in the story current timeline, she surprisingly got the title of "the most selfless sacrifice" in the novel, sacrificing herself to save humanity in variant humans. Second, why Fang Yuan can't be considered as a villain? That is because he was only focused on his self-interest, he can do righteous things if he profits on the righteous side and defect to the demonic path if he see that he can gain more in being a demon, this is a very different from what a villain truly means. I admit, zombie arc is the most boring arc, but the story got escalate after he got new body.

Was it ever mentioned what rank Fang Yuan's brother reached in mcs past life? Cus I'm at 192 but I don't remember anything about it and I'm really curious.

This is one long novel. I read this after i finished the legendary mechanic, warlock of magus world, super gene, then started 40 millenniums of cultivation and sword god in a world of magic. Reverend insanity has the same "issue" of as these two of being slow and repetitive (in the way that there are many recalls or explanations- which are actually necessary to remember stuff unless you can read from start to finish in 1 seating). If you're planning to reverend insanity, be warned that it is unfinished. There will be times that you will get bored and feel like dropping the story. But persevere, nobody will blame you if you cannot push yourself 24/7 like fang yuan did. Take breaks once in a while, otherwise you'd get bored of the world building.
